• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Which type of helmet do your prefer for "cruising"?

Helmets..!!

We ryde with full face modulars. Like the options for weather condition, road condition and the traffic conditions... :2thumbs:

all the gear all the time ATGATT

the pavement doesn't give you a break whether its hot, cold, short ride, long ride -- remember statistics show you are most likely to have an accident close to home.

Modular, jacket with extra armour, 1st Gear HT Overpants, gauntlet gloves over the ankle boots with steel toes,

Scorpion full-face (non-modular.) My first (and so far only) helmet.

I might add another one (3/4) in the future for options but for now I'm good with the one.

Excellent

On very hot days a full face helmet is cooler than an open face helmet as long as your moving at a reasonable speed. Reduces dehydration and fatigue as well.

Ron, I was waiting for the voice of reason! Any time the ambient temperature exceeds your body temperature, having an open face helmet is actually hotter, and leads to dehydration much quicker. In extreme temperatures 100 + your actually better off to close up the vents on your full face helmet! as it is cooler in the helmet than out side. Heat will always transfer from the hotter surface to the cooler surface. So I wear Full Face Arai Defiant for safety and comfort!

Nolan N-104, full face modular. In the winter it has a neck roll and chin piece that helps keep out the cold; in hot weather, they come out and add to airflow. I also use the silvered visor in hot weather, as it cuts temperature when riding into the sun, noticeably. There is plenty of airflow while moving, and when stopped, I just raise the face shield a couple inches. It is the best helmet I've ever had. It fits my head like it was made for me. My wife says she hears me very clearly, when using the phone on Bluetooth . . . The drop down sun visor is also great . . . I'll never buy another helmet that doesn't have one.

But trying to sell this to people is like pushing a rope uphill. You can try! But not many takers.

Same with riding gear. You're cooler (in very hot weather) with a mesh jacket and pants than you are with a T-Shirt and shorts (again, as long as you're moving). And again, less fatigue and dehydration. Not to mention sun burn (which for this pastie white guy is always a concern).

I will keep preaching, to a very small congregation!

I have several, one Arai race helmet and two GMax Modular helmets, I prefer the high end helmets but these GMax modulars are very nice and have become out go to helmets on all rides

Something to make you smile

When you get near me in traffic, I want to bring a wide grin to your kisser...

So please make it wild and very unusual...

Actually I wore a beautiful pearl white, full face on the Ninja, but feel quite safe while wearing the BPR three quarter on the Spyder. The highway wind is brutal though... Face it.

Ah, but if funds allow, I would love one of those rear entry www.Voztec.com models, due out hopefully at the end of the year, beginning of next.
I love the idea of a helmet without the nuisance chin strap assembly.

Yup, that would cover me.

Good one, right there...
Actually If I rode a scary Yamaha, then yes, I would look just like that anyway... Hahaha

Thanks for the laugh. Please keep those coming!! ;-)

Shoei full face RF1200 on the street. Just got a new full face enduro helmet and the brand name escapes me but it's a nice light carbon fiber thing, retired the last enduro helmet after it bounced off a tree. Luckily my head was in it.

I have the RF1200 too. matte black. love it. Installed a Uclear HBC100+ bluetooth in it. All set

I'd wear a proper full face if only I could. However, I wear the only helmet I can put on and fasten with one hand, which is a polycarbonate open face. I feel it's better than the only alternative (nothing) and a crying shame as it have about half a dozen other helmets in my shed, including a Roof Boxer the exact colour of my Spyder :-(
