• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Fang's in the Shop

FANG

New member
Fang was towed from Mobile today to PMS. I will say that the people involved from the B.E.S.T. Extended Warranty Plan did a really great job. I was able to call give them my information and the delivered my :spyder2: to the dealer as promised.

The people at PMS have been first rate. First contacted Jimmy my salesman and explained that the :spyder2: was being towed to PMS and he took my information and passed it on to the service mgr - Darrell. I spoke with Darrell and he reviewed what happened with Fang and he said it was probably just a relay but they would check out the full electrical system and all the codes.
The are also going to do my 6000 mile service and the parking brake fix.
Stopped by this afternoon after work and they have ordered the parts for the parking brake and have everything set to start all checks and service tomorrow.
I figure it may be first of next week if they don't find anything more than the relay and I will have Fang back.

When I was in Mobile Sunday my nephew (4 yrs old) got my helmet off the table and damaged the mechanism for the shield - broke it beyond repair. So I mentioned it at PMS and found a HJC IS-33 tried it on and ordered one to replace my broken helmet. They gave me a discount and I will be able to pick it up Thursay afternoon.

Great service all around so far. Will keep everyone up dated.

I want to say thank you to all who responded to my questions previously. I am not mechanically inclined but with your advice I feel I can at least know what I should be looking for in the repair.

Sounds like everything is going in the right direction for you. I'am sure you and fang will be one again very soon. :2thumbs:

Question: Did you receive a card with the emergency number on it and if so, how long did it take? Some here have posted the number, but I'm really interested in knowing how long it takes BRP to get the BEST owner the information packet (if there is one?) Oh...what number did you end up using (just to compare)...

I had my card within 2 months of of taking ownership of the :spyder:. It has a customer service number on the back of the card and I just called it and gave them my information. Worked well for me.

I guess they are really learning how these machines operate. As far as the engine itself Pensacola Motorsports was an Aprilla dealer and have worked with the ROTAX engine previously - it is just all the electronics that are on this bike that keeps them stumped I think.

I was told that they have seen this code before so they have a pretty good idea what it might be. So I feel confident I will get it bacj soon - guess it depends if they have order parts and how long it takes to get them.
