• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ultimate seat after market fuel door.

OK I have bought a Ultimate seat for my ride w/o the fuel door. The price was too good to pass but I am wondering if there is an aftermarket one I could install. I swear I read about it being done but can't find it in search.:dontknow:

We had Len install a gas door in our stock seats while he was still at Cowtown. You might check with Pitbull Powersports about this.

A DIFFERENT ROUTE

This has been done using filler DOORS from cars /trucks etc......check at Summit Racing.com-----or even JC Whitney_____RockAuto.com has some great prices.......Look on advanced search for people who have done it on Spyderlovers..............Mikeguyver :thumbup::thumbup:

I have looked at searches and installs but none are of an Ultimate seat. Probably because most already buy one with it in it. Mine does not have that option nor is it a big deal to me I am buying for comfort not gas door. I am specifically looking for someone who got the standard Ultimate and added it. From what I have read the results and methods used to install them have been a mixed bag at best and do not want to ruin a $1000 investment if I decide to go that route. In reality either way I have to get off and my better half should probably stretch her legs too.

Adding a fuel access door to ANY seat, is just about the same process... The tough part ; screwing your courage on tight enough to survive cutting into a perfectly good seat with a saw!

Good Luck!

Dave I'm not absolutely positive but, I do believe " ULTIMATE " starts with the stock pan , and adds their padding etc.,,,,and the door they use to the best of my knowledge is not " manufactured " by them either ...they by a gas door from someone else ..............Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd if the DOOR is no big deal then why did you ask about it in the first place ????????..............................I was just trying to Help out with my suggestion .....not suggesting you had to do anything !!!!!.Mikeguyver

I have the ultimate with a fuel door, but I can't get my hand in it with enough leverage to get the cap off. I still raise the seat to fill up.

Just measuring my options is all I am doing. Geeze I won't have it in hand till tomorrowc:thumbup:

I have no problem at all reaching and removing/installing the cap. It was a bit tight the first go but I trimmed away all the unnecessary plastic and it has plenty of room now. I have a nice bag on my back seat so I cannot raise my seat which is why I installed the gas door.

I asked at the Ultimate booth at Spyderfest this year, and was told by the woman there that they did not sell the door by itself and that the stock seat pan wasn't thick enough to support it anyway. I wasn't real happy with her attitude when she answered ( I was stupid for even asking) so I just walked away. I haven't but I still think it is possible.

I got the same answer and same impression about her.:dontknow: So much for support AFTER the sale I guess. I highly doubt they use different pans would like to hear some confirmation from them here on the site.

Gas door installed[/h]
I posted some photos a week or so ago of the gas door I had installed. Here are some better photos and it works great. I had the stock seat lumbar moved back 2", added the Utopia back rest, added heat and the gas door.
