AIR PRESSURE IN KUMHO TIRE?????????

Just put a Kumho Tire on my bike today. The guy put 42 lbs of air in it. Is that too much???ray:

Start with the recommended pressure for your model and work from there. Your roadster weighs much less than a car...:thumbup:

Ok thank yall!!! I was thinking that was a bit too much. It feels different with all that air. Does the tire hold up good with that pressure? No signs of wear? Getting ready to go to Durango & don't want a mishap!!!:yikes:

'09 RS.... on my 2nd KUMHO.... I ride, 1 up... @ 250 lbs. 26 psi.... never an issue with wear...

tires are a VERY SENSITIVE part of a SPYD3R... it all depends on how you ride: 1 UP, 2 UP... 1 up with lots n lots of luggage, 2 up with same... 1 up/2 up with trailer... etc etc etc etc etc....

you need to find YOUR SWEET SPOT..... NO 2 are the same.....

My wife has been running car tires since 2010, run rear at 18PSI. MUCH BETTER TIRE LIFE. 25,000-30000 on 215/60-15 Michelin Hydro edge and General Altimax rt, , 2 up would prob. go 21psi , she rides solo , do the math on tire ratings are at max. load these spyders weigh nowhere enough to keep the tread profile flat at speed which is why center wears out . She has close to 67000mi. on her rts , Have no idea where canam got these recommended psi. ratings , this is not rocket science , dont understand why this is such an ongoing problem . Running 175/65-14 altimax on front at 22psi. and have never found need to change shocks , these tires don't squirm under cornering much better sidewalls and had to look at my records have 35000 mi. now and still at least 50% tread left, hope this helps.

Been running 28 psi on the wife bike. A Kumho in the stock size for about 3500 miles now with zero signs of wear. 18 psi in the Bridgestone Potenza's up front. The Spyder rides great with no bad Vibes at any speed.

I run 26 to 30psi depending on type of riding i'll be doing. It is really hot down here in Low Country SC and tire press expands when tire is hot so I usually run 26 psi...

I run mine at 32psi, and they seem to wear pretty evenly across the tread.

Kept mine at 30 psi cold, new Kumho installed and drove out to Spyderfest and back and still looks new.

When replacing rear tire make sure that the air valve is between the spoke of the rear tire. My dealer did not pay attention to that and now it is very difficult to check / add air.:yikes:
