There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

this is outrageous and lots of cursing

A little hard to watch. I made it to just over 4 minutes. Owner may have different things to say in 24 hours or so. Very one sided at the moment. :dontknow:

Not sure what really happened but I suspect the dog appeared well after officer entered the property and came at him by surprise. If the dog had barked prior to this I really doubt the officer would have even entered. Not sure if the missing child is a valid reason but I it were my child I would like to think the police force would leave no leaf unturned. Dogs are animals in my mind and more power to you if you love them like people but they are just dogs and if the officer, for what ever reason, entered the property and was threatened by a surprised dog I would have to surmise he took the best defensive action possible in a split second. I believe any humans life outweighs that of an animal every time.

I am sure people that love their pets will not agree, and again, more power to you but no debate is necessary to say it is an animal plain and simple. It has been domesticated and serves some inner urge in those that see them with human chacteristics. I enjoy petting some other persons dog, as long as I can get to soap and water or hand sanitizer after interacting. They smell, they try to lick me after they have cleaned their privates and nosed in garbage. The bark and my idiot neighbors do nothing to stop them. They crap and piss in my yard and then my grand kids play on it. They carry fleas and ticks, tapeworms and other nastys. They have attacked children and adults alike and left the disfigured, crippled or dead.....Yeah... glad its your dog. The only good thing is they are tasty in a natural disaster, lol (cats taste better though but don't get me started) lol.

Well the owner was overwrought but I suspect the video attention will help him overcome his grief... otherwise, what is the point? lol... Meanwhile an officer that was trying to find a missing child is treated like a dog executioner, lol..What a world this has become.

You could have said all that bs in one sentence; the officer did what was necessary. Instead, you try to degrade those that like pets.

I can see the officer entering the yard to search, but did he have the right to enter the house without permission, where the dog was probably only defending his owners property? Was the officer in the house or did he shoot the dog through the door? So much is not known. Why didn't the officer involved in the shooting have the balls to stay? Why did he leave, did he feel guilty or just not want to face the owner? Even if you think of the dog as "just an animal" it was the other mans personal property that the officer destroyed, he should me held accountable for that. I have known a few cops and ex cops an not all were honorable men, and some even thought they were above the law. Without knowing everything from what little is shown in that video it does seem that some other action other than shooting the dog could have been taken. I am not a dog owner nor do I particularly like dogs, but this is just another incident that tarnishes the reputations of all cops, good and bad.

While I feel bad for the animal; the Officer did what was necessary under the circumstances...
...As for the nitwit who chose to live his life out for the World to see in all it's "glory"... go get a real life!

May be so, maybe so, lol. A small indoor dog like yours is a good choice for some one that loves dogs.

I did not see where he entered the home just the gate into the back yard, did I miss something?

the cop entered the yard not the home. the big argument was that the cop did not back out of the gate when he saw the dog.

Yes I understand, rather doubt that he had the option or he would have, or at least I would hope so. I suspect he entered, walked a distance and then the dog came at him from around the corner of the shed. It is all speculation but the dog was a large breed and could have done some harm if it had bitten.

There is lots of debate on this. It was posted on Firewire too. I won't try to armchair judge the video or the officers actions. There is just not enough to go on.

Had an incident last week where a lady a mile down the road was attacked by four pitbulls while she was out in her garden. Her dog, also a pitbull, was killed by the dogs while trying to defend her.

As to the comments by Bluestratos, although you are free to express your opinion, IMHO you're being a bit harsh. With what you said I can't see how you can say you enjoy petting someone elses dog. Lumping all dogs into one category seems a bit unfair. No, I don't own a dog. My dog died 10 years ago. He didn't bark unless there was a need to. He didn't smell, he didn't have fleas, tapeworm or ticks. He didn't use anyone elses yard for his bathroom. However, if you made a move to harm my wife or daughter... well, let's just say he would do what I trained him for. We had no desire to have another dog since. But we have adopted four cats. Oh, I have worked with large carnivores to. Big cats. Mostly tigers. Yes, I'm an animal lover.

The Police that were involved in this unfortunate incident were looking for a lost kid... If I were a :cus: who took a kid; I'd make sure that there were some dogs around to try and dissuade them from entering my property to conduct a search...
Kudos to them; for not backing down! :2thumbs:
I just hope that they found the missing child...

He was found the same day, 3 hours later from when he was reported missing; he was sleeping the basement of his house.

Thanks for that information! :2thumbs:
If he had been found earlier... we could have been saved from this video!
Please don't mis-understand me; I'm about the biggest doglover around...
But when there's a missing child in the mix; all bets are off!

Lol... now that was harsh, lol..... I think you understand that I am talking about the bad pet owners, not those that act responsibly. I love my wife and children, I like animals.

 ...I have been told by the Missus; that my opinion needs some "adjustment"... :gaah:
She felt that the officer should have retreated and notified Animal Control, since they have non-lethal methods of dealing with pets...
The owner should THEN have been contacted; and told to get home A.S.A.P. for the search of this premises...

Bob,

I realize you aren't allowed to disagree with the missus; but, you may want to ask her if she remembers Jenna Grieshaber, and what happened to her while the officers waited for animal control. In case you forget:

I'm reminded of that each time I visit the gf's parents in the cemetery; her gravesite is near their's.
