Well, I finally broke down and took the bike into the dealer on Tuesday for a few items.
6000 mile service
small oil leak..I could not find the source of the leak but it is very slow..just droplets on bottom.
check engine light..err 522 or something like that.
coolent leak, have no clue where it came from and why now after 7000 miles.
Took my old brake pads in to the dealer to show how the fronts did not have any wear. I had talked with BRP and they stated they would replace them for free if I found them not worn.
So the dealer called me back today, they are really trying hard to make this relationship work as I bring them plenty of other business.
They can't find the oil leak either but it may be around the pressure sensor which needs to be replaced anyway so the part is on order.
The coolent looks like a loose hose that they will tighten and check again after running it warm. It only leaked when running warm.
As for the brakes..this is a bit crazy but it will work out. I put on my new pads just under 100 miles ago. They have been working great with no to very little noise. Only when backing up. So the dealer called BRP and stated they will not warrenty the pads and pay me back since I did the install myself. Umm..OK. They will pay to have NEW pads put back on and give me back my old new pads and the old pads I gave them to compare. BRP will pick up the tab on all of this as well. Interesting turn of events, so I get the new pads put on for free and get my new ones back..lol. Silly if you ask me but sure.
The sensor is on order so it will be at the shop for a few days until they get it in. Glad it is raining all weekend..lol. I hope all things work out.
Now back to my search for this stupid egg.
