• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Garage Door Opener

NM Wrench

New member
Hi I know I saw a thread on here where someone installed a momentary push button on their speaker cover and soldered wires to their remote door opener and velcroed it underneath the cover. Does or has someone done this and can they put up pics and directions on how to do it? Any help will be appreciated.

I wired a spare garage door opener to the high beam on one of my Harley's Just pull up to the garage and flick hi beam to open the door. Trying to decide how to add one to the new Spyder.

there are many versions of this mod. the cheapest is the momentary switch wired to the button contacts on your remote. mine is under the large fuse box cover, under the trunk lid. the momentary button is up near the steering column. dig thru the mods pages. there will be several write-ups on it.

I also installed this mod on my 2012 RT and my wife's 2010 RT and we both like them a lot.
If you look under the "gallery" link and do a album search "Macca mods" that is where I got the idea.
hope that helps.

We just use a car type remote Velcroed to a convent place on the dash, never had a problem with it getting wet or anything.

Opener..!!

I got the keyring opener and velcroed it on the dash. Protected by the windshield been working fine.

I use velcro, too.

I attach my opener, with velcro, to the inside wall of my glovebox. Stays in place and doesn't get lost.

mini remotes

i came across these mini remotes for old genie garage door openers. 16 dollars delivered from amazon. this particular remote is for the 12 dip switch system. pictured is the remote, next to a quarter.
