• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I would like to pick your intelligent minds about my 1st. service my :spyder: seems to be running right:thumbup: I did notice that the fog light indicator light is not working ?? or is it supposed too :dontknow:.My dealer gave me a estimated on what the 1st service should cost $260.00 AMERCAN bucks!!! is that close to what ya paid or is he making up from the sale:yikes: what I paid for the :spyder: is worth it  I been :spyder2:ING everyday since I got it home and its A blast:yes::yes::2excited:maybe BRP. should give:spyder:LOVERS booklets to hand out to the enquiries:2thumbs:so we can spend more time :spyder2:ING than :chat:ING

just had mine done a week ago---it ran just over $300 (taxes included) --but everything is a little more expensive in this area than it should be.

If you have a SE, I would recommend ensuring they do the spring recall check (its a heavier stronger spring and solved some of my early issue with surging at idel)

First of all - I think you won some kind of award for extra use of emicons:D.
I would ask about the parking brake fix and if your brakes squeak - there is a fix for that, if it is an SE there is the gear sensor adjustment and the "stouter" spring that is being put in. Ask for a very detailed explaination of what was done and what was found.
And of course get a solid answer as to when the service will be done - make sure they have all parts/fluids there before you drop it off.

Glad you are enjoying a........carefree Spyder, I was fortunate also

$260 is not wildly high from what most have been reporting. I think I paid between $150 and $200 but I can't remember for sure. To get a better feel for how they are pricing, ask what they will do at the first service. An oil change alone can run up around $80.

Price is in the right ballpark if they provide the parts and use BRP synthetic oil. Parts include oil filter(s), O-ring(s), and crush washers. As to the foglight indicator, some have been installed with the wrong polarity (pertially due to errors in BRP wiring colors). Reversed polarity will prevent the indicator from glowing. Switch the wires around and it should be OK. If that doesn't cure it, the indicator is faulty. There have been a couple of those, too.

Yup...I paid just under $300.00...

Inquire about the extended warranty (BEST) if you don't already have one...might be a good idea...

Taking mine in tomorrow. Refresh my memory on the stronger spring issue.:dontknow: I do have an SE. It is a late 08. I just delivery of it 2 weeks ago. No squeaks on the brakes yet.:D(knock on wood).

It's part of the hydraulic clutch mechanism at the engine... disengages better with the stronger spring. Also, in the same "fix", was the replacement of the Gear Position Sensor.
