• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tri Axis Handlebars Installed

If you plan on doing this yourself, plan for a day of fun! :yikes::D

I had assistance from a fellow Spyderlover, Les (PW2013STL), who helped greatly as he had previously installed on his 2014 RT.

Long story short - very long process, not really complex, but instructions were lacking. You basically had to remove the front panels, console module, etc. NOT the frunk. Removing the console module is a key point when doing this project! Yes, you need to buy a new GPS bracket to mount the factory GPS to the Tri Axis base.

It took 2 of us about 5 hours to install -- maybe it took twice as long since we both worked on it!! :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Here's a few pics for your enjoyment! Turned out great!:thumbup::thumbup: :D:D:D And....a big "thank you" to Les for his help!:clap::clap:

Great to hear! I just had mine installed a couple weeks ago. Are you using the top center rubber cap since you have a GPS installed? If not let me know. Mine fell off on a ride and having a hard time replacing as Im told its not available for purchase separate.

Hi, sent you a PM.

This thread reminded me to adjust mine before I head out tomorrow. I had them put on at Pit Bull's when I bought the RTS and they adjusted them for me then. I had them swept back to be less reach for my short arms, but they were rolled back a little too much. I was having to move out of the way sometimes in tight turns. So I moved them forward a bit. I hope that will be better. Lucky for me, if it's not, I can adjust them again!! ;)

I'm glad that I had mine installed by the dealer before I took delivery of the Spyder. They cut me a good deal on the install.

Just wondering what the advantages are to this mod? Trying to gain as much info as possible....

This mod allows you to adjust the handlebars back towards you as well as up and down. I have had shoulder and neck pain on long trips with both my 2012 RT Limited and now with the 2014 RT Limited as the stock handlebars are just a little too far forward for me. I'm not a very tall person and the arm reach was the issue. Now that I've had the Tri Axis handlebars on for awhile, I've "tuned" them so my reach feels very comfortable. Yesterday, I went on a group ryde of about 300 miles and guess what, very little neck and shoulder pain. :D:D It was worth it for me. :D:D Some people certainly don't need to do this if they are comfortable with the stock set-up.

Good luck with your mods.....you are doing the right thing by gathering info. before spending the $'s on mods.
BTW...one of the more "pricey" mods!

Here's a website (I bought from Amazon, but this website shows the photo that demonstrates the adjustment): http://bcipznvyz.blogspot.com/2013/07/can-am-spyder-adjustable-handlebars-tri.html

Here's the mods so far I've done on my 2014 RT:
HMT 3rd Brake Light w/ Dual Converter
Helmet Guardian dual locks
LED's on mirrors
SENA Bluetooth
Driver's seat backrest
BajaRon's High Performance Sway Bar
BajaRon's Heim Joint Links
Bumpskid
Netting in all compartments
SPY 5000m Alarm
FIAMM 72112 Freeway Blaster Horn
Smoothspyder Drive Belt Tensioner
NBV Highway Brackets with Widow Pegs
RT Stainless Steel KOTT Grilles
Tri Axis Handlebars
GPS Mount for Tri Axis Handlebars

Sounds like it would be a very useful mod! I think it would have been nice to try that on the Spyder I rode today - I would have moved it up and back a bit, so I wasn't putting as much pressure on my hands and wrists. :)

You should find someone in your area or a dealer that have a Spyder with that mod on it. Then you can see if it would be a benefit before spending the big $'s on it. I never had the Tri Axis handlebars on my 2012 RT, but the 2014 RT is a "keeper" and I will have it for years. So, this 2014 RT Spyder will be decked out with the mods (farkles)!

Well..!!

you had nothing better to do..!! :roflblack::roflblack: congrats to both nice job you can travel like the laser guys and gals now....:roflblack:
