• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

After installing Gel into the seat it becomes heavier, the shock will not hold it when it raised.

I am sure I am not the only one with this issue, did someone found other shock that can hold heavier seat.

I have a similar problem. When I stop for gas, I remove the gas cap and place it under the rear of the seat to serve as a block and keep the seat elevated until I get the bike filled. It is a bit of a nuisance but until i find a stronger shock, it will work.

Little checking..!!

auto parts carry an assortment. If you get the measurements of your stock one you can see if they have one that size used for trunks or hoods. They would be much stronger. You can also google and find suppliers....

Check out the SL sponsor I bought one from them at Spyder Fest. They don't show it on their website, but were selling them at Spyder Fest.

Yes I have a replacement gas strut. The OEM strut is 18 lb lift. I
have 35, 40, and 45 lb struts available. PM me if I can help. Bob

That's what I do, but I am not looking to buy another shock. In the scheme of things, to me, the nuisance is really minor.

All air struts eventually weaken and give out over time . Good to know where one can find a replacement that will work.
35-40 #'s sound a bit strong though. Don't say I said this but you might have to set "Moma" on the seat to get it down.

Look at it this way. You can use your Spyder to build up your arms, and forget the need for a gym membership. Or, if you find a cat napping on your seat, like some have, you can eject it.

Havy seat

With the #35 Strut and my wife weight if I turn the key to release the seat while she is on, it will probably eject her!
