There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Spray Cleaner

At Spyderfest I saw several people using a spray-on product to clean their Spyders without actually having to go to a car-wash. I think some vendor was selling something like that there, but I didn't want to buy another thing. Now I wish I had.

ExtremeKempy has this: http://www.extremekempy.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1457
Is that the stuff? I'm sure there are other similar products.

What do ya'll use for that? Is there something I can get at an auto-parts place locally?

I use ICE spray wax and cleaner and have for years. In the spots that accumulate a lot of bugs I use Turtle Wax Bug and Tar Remover (it is also a wax). This really makes it easy to clean the bugs off after applied.

CycleCare Vendor at Spyderfest 2014

I picked some of this up while at Spyderfest: https://www.cyclecare.com/

I bought Formula 33 and have been happy with the results. It works great on removing dried-on bug splats. It works better the second time around since the first cleaning also works as a preventative measure.

Choices choices..!!

there are many products out there and new ones all the time. I use "Plexus" when I find a good deal otherwise "Protectall" . Your local bike shop will have a variety to choose from...

I just buy a purple and black can at the dealer, it is a cleaner and wax combo, about $7-8. don't remember the name. will look and take a picture tonight.

Sounds like "Original Bike Spirits". That's what I use. It used to be called "Honda Spray And Clean". Honda lost the exclusive rights to it. :yikes: This is where I get mine.

Great people to deal with. Tell them the couple with the Yellow Spyder sent you. They really liked it. Tom :trike:

I'm waiting for someone with a satin finish to check in. There's a big warning on my frunk lid saying not to use wax on the finish, but it doesn't say what you should use.

Cleaner

I have used both Original Cleaner and Polish and Lucas Slick Mist. Both work good, but Lucas is more readily available at most auto parts stores. It will take off the bugs in a one step cleaning and polishing. Shine On!

Use Turtle Wax Rinse Free Wash & Wax....finish up with Lucas Slick Mist Speed Wax

I use Turtle Wax Rinse Free Wash & Wax....finish up with Lucas Slick Mist Speed Wax (it's a spray mist).

If the bike just needs a little touch up, then just use the Lucas Slick Mist Speed Wax....looks good, but does not replace a great waxing that takes time -- Lucas Slick Mist is fast and looks great.

If the bike needs a real cleaning, i.e. bugs, dirt, etc., the I recommend the Turtle Wax Rinse Free Wash and Wax. You can just use this with a small pail of water and few ounces of product. Wipe in down and buff it off. Looks great. For even more shine, then you can use the Lucas Slick Mist....but I have just used the Turtle Wax product and it looks just fine.

Here's a pic for you:

I use Mother's detail spray, mostly because I already buy it for my car. I know its the correct product for my car because it has a picture of my car on the label.....

Anyway, Plexus for the windshield but its kind of pricey for using it on the whole bike. Does work good though. Mother's detail spray works for the paint and chrome areas great. Protectall 303 aerospace protectant for seat and rubber.

Lemon Pledge is one that I've used with good success...
As is Meguiar's Quick Detailer...
...and the stuff that BRP sells in that round container; it also has some real nice cleaning rags included!

Lemon Pledge. You should see how shiny my Spyder is!

I've heard of this but I don't think I'd use furniture cleaner on my tupperware. As long as there's something else available.

XPS!! Maybe I can pick some up at the BRP-OE.

BINGO!
I was drawing a complete blank on what they called it... :opps:
That little canister carries real well, and the stuff inside it is worth the money. (About $17 bucks or so...)

guys at the airport told me about pledge. They use it on the airplanes. After you do the whole bike you gotta buff it quickly with a different cloth.

Of course my wife just had to ask this Harley Guy what he was using to clean his Harley. And boy did she get a surprise when the guy said he was cleaning it with "STRIPPER JUICE":shocked::shocked::opps::opps:

I use this waterless wax cleaner called:FUKKEN WAX
http://www.fukkenwax.ca/ works great. I mostly use it when traveling saves caring a bucket and soap in the trailer.

My father-in-law turned me on to FW1 (http://www.fw1shine.com/) and it works great and has carnuba wax in the compound. The only downside is it's about $20 per can and I have to order it... can't find it in any stores.

Because I was in need of some recently and didn't order any of the FW1, I decided to try Meguiar's Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere (http://www.meguiars.com/en/automotive/products/g3626-ultimate-wash-and-wax-anywhere/). It works great, though, it's a wax activator, not a wax, therefore, I don't think it's as good as the FW1.

I haven't tried Plexus but based on the ingredients in the MSDS it is primarily a potent cleaner. For now, I'm an advocate for FW1 as the best cleaner / wax I'm aware of.
