• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Would you install or return?

I posted at the end of another thread but figured the general public would see it quicker here..... I got my new BRP backrest for my ST Limited and the pieces inside the box got loose and collided repeatedly while it was being shipped. Would you install it and suck it up or get a new one? It's not horribly damaged but I know it's damaged :banghead: It took over a week to get this one so I'm running dangerously close to getting it in time for a big trip I have planned. Maybe install the brackets and switch out the back rest part when the new one comes so I'm not scrambling to find time to install it????

If you like your stuff pristine, you have a legitimate complaint. Perhaps the vendor will give you a little adjustment allowance for pain and suffering if you keep it as is.

Bad packing that allowed damage to happen is a good excuse.

Not sure if I would return for an exchange--but that is going to be your final call.

Gotta say..!!

for what they cost.. Have them send you replacement. Check with them and see if they will ship fast or if you can return it when you return from your trip. But make sure they are aware of the problem both travel and damage...:lecturef_smilie:

Shipping Claim

If this was shipped to you from BRP, BRP will most likely tell you to file a claim with the shipper. For that, you will generally need the shipping container, and ideally, pictures of the container as it was on arrival at your location, before it was opened. I've been down this road before - not with BRP, but other products.

Very good thought on returning it after the trip. I'm always the lucky one on this stuff :cus:

It was from a dealer. The outside of the outer box looks perfectly fine. The inner factory can-am box has a little damage

The bad deal is I know ME well enough that right now I'm mildly okay with tolerating the damage but if I call and they aren't pleasant and helpful and tell me what I want to hear I'll get all twisted up and pist off :roflblack:

Take it back

I would definitely take it back to the dealer then. With as much as those backrests costs, I would want it flawless!

Did you put it on a charge card? If so, return it. If the seller gives you crap, file a claim with the charge card company. Most charge cards provide guarantees of this kind of stuff.

Yeah it's on a credit card.

I would sent the dealer pictures of the damage and tell them that you find that unacceptable and ask them what they are going to do to make it right. Do that in a nice manner and see how they respond.
