• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Elka Shock Install / Settings?

I received my Elka Stage 1+R shocks and springs last night from Pitbull. Thanks for the fast from instock shipping. They look great and look forward to installing them.

They came with no instructions though. I have the service manual and R&R should be no problem unless there is something different about the install. Do the Elkas go in spring up or spring down? The stock ones are spring up but I notice that will put the Elkas in with all the labels and logos upside down.

What settings? Where should I adjust the height (with or without rider?) and what is the correct rebound setting for my bike?

If you told Len your weight and riding style he would have set them up for you. the adjustment knob goes to the bottom.

Here's a video of Lamont installing the stage 5's

Springs down. My springs are set to 9" and IIRC John from Elka said turn the knob all the way in then back it out 20 clicks. The shocks come out the bottom with a little wiggle when the front is jacked up off the ground.

Pitbull should have gotten what model you ride and your weight so they could dial the shocks in. At least they did with me

They are set at 9" but the adjusters were all the way out. Suppose I will set them where JT suggested and try unless I hear back from Elka. I actually tried to purchase them from Elka but wanted them before Durango. So they contacted PitBull who had a set for a 2013 RT in stock to ship. I really appreciated the fast shipping and the referral so not upset with anyone here. Just kinda a wierd deal. I did give all the information on weight etc to Elka.

Just a follow up in case anyone else needs the info. John got back with me and I have what I needed.

Yes, the Elka's install spring down on the 2013 RT with the rebound adjust knob at the bottom. Starting adjustment recommended for my bike and weight was 9" spring length and 25 clicks up from its lowest setting. (25 clicks in from full open)

Thanks everyone. Look forward to installing these this weekend and using them in the Durango area.
