• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This is my procedure for checking the oil. Is this correct?

  1. Go for ride to get the engine to operating temp
  2. when I pull into the garage I keep it running and go remove my jacket
  3. Engine still running I remove the Tupperware
  4. shut engine off
  5. remove dipstick - wipe it off
  6. reinsert dipstick - screw it all the way in
  7. remove dipstick and read oil level

Thank you

It looks good from here...
The key is to make sure that the bike is FULLY warmed-up...
...and given at least thirty seconds of idling, prior to shutting it down. :2thumbs:

The only difference for me is that I shut off the engine before I remove the tupperware. The foam is always gone by then.

According to the manual what you are doing is by the book...except you are leaving out one step. After getting it to operating temp, park on level surface. Shut it off. Remove the panel. Restart and run for 30 seconds. Shut off and immediately check oil level.
