• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is there anybody out there having issues with engine light and po171 and po174 codes. This is an on going issue with my spyder and my local Brp tech doesn't know why this keeps happening after he resets ECM.

Need to know..!!

a little more..what year, stock pipe and air cleaner, aftermarket pipe and air cleaner, juice box...seems to be a fuel air mixture problem. Might be o2 sensor..dealer should be able to isolate the problem if not they should call it in...good luck..!!

Both codes point to system lean on both cylinders. Solution is Check injector and fuel supply system. Could be fuel pump, filter and a tech who does not know how to troubleshoot. Find a better shop.

I've had 02 senors replaced and also purge valve done and still problems with po171 and po174.
While I was in Sonora for spyder meet I had gone to 3 deales ( LODI,CA-RENO-MT.VERNON,WA )all say the same problem.
Evertime it was reset within 100 miles codes came back after each time I filled tank with 91 premium gas.
I have a 2012 rt se5 ltd with 13000 km as this started after I have purge valve replace and o2 senors at about 4500 km

Not sure on the Spyder but there should be a way to check fuel pump pressure. Most FI systems have a Schrader valve to attach a pressure gauge to. I also do not know what the pressure should be. My bet is fuel pump. Someone smarter than I will be by shortly...

It almost seems like a crap shoot with spyders. I think the initial build would probably be the cause of most of the problems, but things like the heat, codes or non build issues etc....Some have those issues and some don't. Is it that the quality control is that bad, or the parts used that cheap?:dontknow:

It's perplexing that one bike can be nuthin but fun, and another be nuthin but a headache. :gaah:

P00172 seems to deal with the fuel pump (or regulator? :dontknow:)
Have you done a plug check to visually ascertain if you're running lean?

Did you ever get this figured out/resolved?

I have a 2012 SE RT LTD

I ask because up until about 8 weeks ago I've had 22K+ trouble free miles and then I got my first check engine light with no codes. Turned out it was a cracked vacuum line. 2 weeks later got the 2nd check engine light with a PO174 code. They determined it was a bad "old design" purge valve and replaced it with the new and improved one. The weather was bad and I had a lot going on, so I didn't get much riding in, but about 2 weeks later, I got another check engine with PO174. They determined that the purge value was bad and they bench checked the remaining new values that they had on the shelf and all of them were bad too. They got me up and running on a Friday with an appointment for a new purge valve when they got them in the next Wednesday. They checked them and gave me one they said should be good. I have gotten a lot of riding in since then, but on Saturday (approx 2 weeks later) got another check engine with PO174.

The Spyder doesn't have any loss of power, but I'm not sure if it's safe to drive without doing any damage. I'm hoping someone else can advise on that. We just trailered it down to the dealer (again) and they're going to either try to squeeze it in or they'll have it until Saturday when their first timeslot opens up.
