Can't remember how long ago. But there was a thread about drilling holes in the key
There are holes in the key already
If you take an ice pick at the top center of the key right where the grey band meets the black rubber there is a hole there

That old thread was way back maybe 2008 or 2009
someone took all the rubber of their key and posted pictures of the metal key
there are actually 3 holes in it one on each side and one in the middle

Drilled one of mine. Then later added some yellow Sugru to beef it up. Added the 2mm corded dangle so I could find the key in my pocket.
