• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP sway bar vs. Bajaron?

Yes..!!

his is red..!! :roflblack::roflblack: and his hiem joints are metal.:popcorn: maybe Ron can tell us if brp has been able to duplicate his bar...I doubt it...:dontknow:

I put on Ron's sway bar and new links on last week. IMO they made a significant improvement in handling and most important in drift. Having a 2013 I am not happy in the fact that my shocks aren't adjustable as I would play with those a bit. Riding to work this morning I noticed that the bike rode well enough not to worry about it anymore. The money spent on the sway upgrade is worthwhile and it is also the second bike I have done this to.

Ron's bar is beefier, def. an improvement over stock that you will notice right away.

I haven't tried Lamont's bar, but I have tried 3 others. Of course the first one was the one my ST came with, a spindly little twig of a bar with the bare minimum requirements for keeping the bike stable. I ordered BajaRons bar and the RSS Fox shocks/sway bar kit (its cheaper to buy the RSS bar with the shocks than just the shocks for some reason). Bajarons took longer to get so I decided to try the RSS bar in the mean time. It was better than the stock one but not a huge improvement. The shocks were significantly better than the stock shocks though. I then received BajaRons bar and that was much much stiffer. Wind on the freeway were no longer the severe anxiety producing experience it was before, and hard cornering produces much less lean. The added confidence I have gotten from BajaRons bar has been worth every penny. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being the stock bar and 10 being BajaRons bar I would say the RSS bar was about a 4.

If you do decide the RSS bar is good enough for your riding style I would still strongly suggest you get BajaRons helm links. Maybe the cheap plastic stock links are good enough for the stock sway bar, but I would not trust them with anything stronger.

A long time ago I did do some sway bars in Red. But because the Red powder coat cost me quite a bit more than the black. And sometimes I had to wait awhile to get them painted (until my supplier was running Red). And because you can't even see the bar once installed, I decided to go with black.

As WashingtonApple mentioned, BRP does sell an upgrade suspension kit that includes the Fox shocks and sway bar that come stock on the RSS. Before deciding if I would produce a sway bar kit for the 2013 RS/ST models we tested the BRP upgrade sway bar. Frankly, if the BRP upgrade sway bar did the job, there was no need for me to make that bar. The BRP upgrade bar was a bit stiffer, but none of the riders could tell much or any difference with the bar only installed. We then installed my prototype bar and the improvement was dramatic.

Then, as WashingtonApple states, when we installed the Fox shocks we noticed another level of improvement. The greatest improvement came with the BajaRon sway bar and Fox shocks installed. They are a great match.

Frankly, I am surprised that more RS and ST owners do not install a better sway bar. Both of these Spyders are designed to be 'Sport' models. Both models are much more stable and handle much better with just the BajaRon sway bar kit installed. Add the Fox or Elka shocks and you will not recognize your Spyder as the same machine. And you don't have to ride like a Formula 1 racer to appreciate the benefits.

I have had many customers who didn't think they would benefit from a sway bar upgrade because they ride conservatively. Many have contacted me after the install to say that even though they don't ride that hard, they love the added stability and control that the better sway bar gives them.
