• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Buy without driving?

bought mine without driving one. had quads, dirt bikes, street bikes and sleds my whole life and just knew i wanted one. also realized the wife would not ride on two wheels with me due to a bum knee. 12+k in two summers and have enjoyed every minute of it. met lots of great people and have numerous new friends just because of the spyder!

Absolutely, hundreds if not thousands purchased the 2008 Spyder without ever seeing one in person. I was one of those, and so was Lamont.

Not that I recommend it, mind you. It was either do it that way we did it or not get one. If I had the choice I would certainly have tried one before I purchased it.

Having said that. If I had tried one first I am sure I never would have bought it. The only reason I stuck it out was because I'd already paid for it before I got to try it. Drove me crazy for about 300 miles. Then I settled in and now I love it!

Yes bought my 08 spyder there just wasn't time to test ride. But from the moment i got it on the road and drove 125 miles home I loved that thing. I traded my Harley in on it and never looked back. I just upgraded to a RTS so I'm happy.

I did . . . it was the Spyder or a Harley Tri Glide . . . or never ride, again, because of my knees. My ride home from the dealer drove me crazy, every time I hit a curve, but I wouldn't change it for anything, now (except maybe a 2014 RT!)

Yes. My 2008 GS was purchased 6 months before it came to Alaska. Also did it that way with the other Spyders. The 2014 now in transit will have the paperwork completed on Monday.

I have yet to test drive a Spyder before purchase. So far, no disappointments.

So Did I!!!!

That's how I started this amazing journey! I spent many years looking at the Spyder. Then I buckled down and started really looking into getting one. I did a ton of research...but I never did a test ride. Do I regret it? Not in the least!!! Best decision I ever made...in regards to the Spyder, that is. 12,000+ miles and I still love the ride!!!!!

Yeah..!!

Walked into the dealership, found me a salesman, closed the deal, drove around the parking lot twice and rode 20 miles home. Had sold my wing and all my motorcycle gear in Conn. moved to San Diego and retired from biking. The wife missed it and said for my birthday she would buy another bike. Saw the spyder on one of those rear commercials and said.."if I get another bike it will be a roadster". If I was never right in my life this decision makes up for it. This was Aug. 2012 18,000 miles kater and loving it more all the time...:ohyea::ohyea:

I have never ridden a motorcycle, four wheeler, snow mobile or ski do! Golf cart, yes. I only had sat on a Spyder. Purchased my 2011 RTS SE5 from Louispower Sports in Greenville, TX over the telephone. Had it delivered to WV. The man who delivered it showed me how to start it and how to put it in reverse. I watched the included DVD and headed out! Never a regret!! Love it and all the people I've met on Spyderlovers, SpyderFest and the BRP Owners Event. I how have 15,000+ miles of smiles!!

I bought my 2008 GS a year before they even came out
During that year I couldn't wait to get it
By the time it came in I had it paid
Never regretted the choice
I took every demo ride the dealers had that year in SoCal

I bought a 2014 RT limited as soon as they announced them
Don

I rode mine before I bought it...also rode a Tri Glide and a Victory Lehman conversion as comparrisons. Wouldn't have bought it without riding it. When I was younger I bought my RD400 and XS500 without riding them first, but I haven't bought any bike without riding since the late '70s. As a matter of fact, I've passed on buying bikes twice in the last few years because I couldn't ride them first.

I bought my first Spyder in May 2012, it was a NEW left over stock 2010 RTS.

When I rode it off the dealer lot, it was the first time I had ridden any kind of motorcycle in 30+ years.

A friend already had a 2011 RT, but I had only sat on it while at a standstill.

Currently waiting for a 2014, expected next week as per the dealer.

Yup, bought both my 2012 RT-Ltd & 2014 RT-Ltd without sitting in the saddle.
And all I can say in both cases is :yes:

Yes, went into a dealer in January 2012 , sat on a spyder then ordered a rtl . That was in -20 weather. Picked it up in April , put on 600 miles first week end, had the 600 mile service then took of to Spyderfest. One of the best bikes I ever owned.
