There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. ride on

just noticed on the web a product called ride on,it supposedly repairs flat tyres. I am in australia and no one i know knows anything about it. Just wondering if anyone over there has used it or knows a bit more about it

I have it in the tires on my RT LTD
-It supposed balances the tires, I didn't notice either good or bad (i.e. didn't hurt anything), but my tires were balanced to begin with

-if the bike sits for a while (weeks?) you will notice vibrations (1st mile?) until the 'goo' has spread/re-spread evenly

-So far (knock on wood) I have had no experience with puncture sealing, but that was the main reason I put it in

Ride ON

Hi Dave here.... I do know plenty about it.
I used to own a company named Delta Tire & Wheel Co. Inc.
in Concord California / Antioch, California I Sold out in 1980
I was in the tire business for 20 years. I got out of the tire business
but stayed in the automotive and motorcycle business ever since I have had
plenty of contact with liquid sealers over the years some with fibers that are
supposed to fill /plug up a hole along with the liquid, the stuff goes by many
names and is made by many companies still. I could not tell you how many
times I had some one bring in a flat tire with the goop inside it, when you put the tire
on the machine to dismount it the goop gets on everything, the machine the tools, your feet
hands your pants it is a mess. Finally I got to the point that I would not even touch one.
If the tire in question was under warranty most of the tire companies would not honor
it with that stuff inside. So if I were to say what to do on the road and you get a flat
call AAA or other towing company or have a flat repair kit with you and a small compressor.
That is what I have and have had for years and it has gotten some use not on mine but others
who were with me that got a flat.
Unless they have done wonders with the stuff by now I would avoid it.
Just saying......

Depends..!

Have seen a lot mentioned here about it. Has been around for some time but in my experience all these sealers were intended for off road and farm use. Later applied to automotive and motorcycles. As stated some may get you home and who finally repairs or replaces the tire is of little concern to you it is the worst to work on. Personally, and I stress that, I do not like having liquid, goo, beads or any other unstable material in my tires that can fail and unbalance them. I do tend to ride fast though the roadster is safe even with a sudden wobble not pretty...but I understad it works for minor punctures...

I have had tires go flat rapidly while riding (not blow-outs) and it is not fun. I am a ride on user and I know it has worked because at least in one instance I found a nail in the tire (no loss of pressure) which had obviously been there for quite a while. I know a lot of other riders who also swear by it.

Lot's of bikers swear by this stuff. My experience was that it hardened up inside the tire and caused a vibration that took a while to finally locate. I now carry a $4.00 tire plug kit and hope for the best.

I USE IT AND IT SAVED MY BACON, even went as far as putting it in my trailer tires ( pull behind ), as for the person who was in the tire business for years , I also heard that a tire shop would not touch the tire. I finally broke down and bought a new rear tire , off to the tire shop and they had NO ISSUES, no mess nothing, Did not even charge me to do it, offered to get them some coffee and donuts, No THANK You. So ya get it use it and love it. Kind of a pain to put in tho but easily done.

All I know is it is not like the old stuff referenced above. My tires have no weights and ride on balances them perfectly. It may take a couple miles in the GA wintertime, but never a problem. Just had my front tires swapped and during the rim change, all the ride on stuff stayed in the tires and they were remounted and are perfect. When mounting new tires, just rinse off the rim and it is water soluble, biodegrade able, etc.it doesn't eat rims or get messy at all. Bought my last 6 bottles on sale at Christmas time, saved a bunch. No, I don't work for them. It balances and seals and washes away. It has been mentioned that in the desert heat some of the folks thought the product suffered from evaporation. Don't have that potential problem in The South!! Great product.

I can't prove it but i believe it's the reason i got 26k miles on my rear tire and still have life on the fronts,it keeps them balanced and keeps the pressure right. I will buy more for my new tire and Sofia's new 2014 RTL. The stuff works!
