• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Pastic Bonding Resin?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a plastic bonding resin that I can use to repair the left rear lower rocker panel? The Spyder slipped off of the floor jack that I had under the main frame member, and when it landed, had cracked the black lower plastic panel. It isn't one of the painted body panels, although I have a couple of cracks on mounting tabs that have happened during other mods and repairs.

Don't know how visible the area you are repairing is but Automotive GOOP has been the most durable glue that I have used for plastic repairs. I've fixed lots of things including the headlight mounting tabs in my $40K truck :yikes:

The glue is clear but it's not invisible.

Thanks,

I'll look for it. For the most part the cracked area lies behind another surface panel so yes its not an "in your face" type of damage.

Old school..!!

never found a glue that would hold on a clean crack. The new ones I haven't tried and may work well. I always heated up a piece of fine mesh and let it melt into the pastic. Then covered the patch with JB weld or similar product. Can be a back up plan...

I haven't had any luck getting JB weld to stick to the abs plastics

glue

I've used Gorilla glue on plastic. Put a thin backing plate (plastic or thin metal) on the back of the crack and glue that to the panel. Can't see it and very strong.....hope this helps

I use this stuff. Works great. Even on ABS plastic.
You can some of the fiberglass mesh for wall board joints and this becomes incredibly strong.
