• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hot feet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My friend just bought a 2011 RS Spyder and has wanted one for a very long time so now she is happy......but she says her right foot gets hot as heck when riding...apparently the fan blows hot air onto her foot.........I looked at the area and there is a space on the bottom and top of the fan area that is open..............does anyone know of a plate/shield etc that she can buy to eliminate this problem?????

Go back to the forum home page with a list of all the vendors and look for spyderpops. There is a piece you mount in there that fully diverts the heat out the side. It works fantastic!

Have to agree..!!

:agree: spyderpops has several heat aides worth getting. We have an RS and installed them which really helps. Only other solution are highway pegs to move your feet out of the way..

Spyderpops is the way to go.

If the RS is similar to the RT, in that it has belly pans, get under there and pull the pan off on the right side after you install the both spyderpops shields. Additionally, get one of their Cat shields to block the heat emanating off the catalytic converter. You can see in the pic below what I did to my RT. Has some ugly foam around the blockoff plates as I wanted to prevent ALL HEAT from coming out on my foot. It worked. :)

The Spyderpops accessories should help. In addition, proper footwear (boots rather than tennis shoes) are of benefit. If the fan is running a lot, she is either riding at slow speeds or in stop-n-go traffic a lot, it is real hot there for this time of year, or her coolant is low. The fan should not run excessively on the highway. Slow speeds and stop-n-go compound the heat problem, too, as there is absolutely no air movement around your foot to distribute the radiator vent discharge. She might also want to look at adjusting her foot position, especially if she has highway pegs.

My friend told me that his wife was complaining about hot feet on his 2013 RT, he said that she was very uncomfortable with this, I told him to come by the house and i would look at it. He came by with his wife (this was in August last year 95+ Temp), when he rode up i could immediately see the problem. She was wearing shorts and flip flops. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

After about 15 minutes of explanation she finally got it, problem solved.

Yea, Spyderpops has got something to alleviate her situation. It's weird so many have complained of this................................never been a issue for me on my '12. :sour:

yea

always had heat problems with my 2012 RT from the beginning of purchase. before ALL the fixes and money spent its not too bad but still there! in the beginning I wore boots ...and that boiled my foot.
I wore tennis or sandals AND that BBQ'd my foot. throw some gas smell a few drips of gas and oil and whuala got yourself a spontaneous combustion ingredients. BUT its bearable and good NOW!
I still have that awful gas smell and the dealer basically told at last service to zuck it up nothing to be done about it :banghead:

For what it's worth; there needs to be more of that type of post along with a description of what caused it besides stupid!!!:yikes::yikes::yikes:

I have the Spyderpops air redirector and E-scoop on my 2011 RS. I don't feel any heat at all on my right foot. Works great!

Be aware that the SpyderPops mod that puts Foam on two sides of the radiator will Get "Very Hot " and the residue from the foam and Sealant Can and Will Form a Film that " In my Case" Covered Most of my front radiator veins ?? Soo I took it ALL off and scrapped the sealant off also? Just check your radiator often, especially if your in a Hot climate- I wasn,t and it still covered my Radiator! This is just my experience.nojoke
