• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I was 130 miles from home, today, heading to a meet and greet in Richmond, VA. We were traveling with a group, picking up more folks along the way. As we slowed down to check at a rest area on I-95 for more ryders, I got a limp home screen and my 2013 RT stalled, right after I got off the throttle to take the exit. I got towed to Fredericksburg VA and the dealer discovered a split air hose . . . they have another Spyder there, waiting for the same part that I now need . . . I can only assume that this hose has split on a nine month old Spyder with just over 2,800 miles as a result of the extreme heat under the Tupperware . . . or BRP has a batch of bad hoses out there . . . Through the help of friends, I was able to get home, but now my Spyder is at a dealership over 100 miles from the house . . . waiting for a hose . . . when it is fixed, I'll need to find a way to get back there to pick it up . . . I'm not happy, tonight. :banghead:

How bout letting us know which hose it was so we can keep an eye for that problem. I think some are replacing the hoses with silicone so the heat don't cook them.

I'll post the part number when I get my Spyder back . . .

BRP part number is: 420960115 Hose, Sensor

These are the two vacuum hoses that go to the MAPS Sensor. Cracking and vacuum leaks had been a problem on a few Spyders.

Sorry to hear that this "cooked" your weekend ride! :gaah:
Good luck; here's hoping that the dealer does right by you!

cracked vacuum hose

I posted about this 2 years ago. 2011 RTs. Same issue. Dealer 150 miles away, spoke to them on phone. Suggested getting standard vacuum hose, cutting it to length and installing. Took more time to get to it than to fix. Dealer at that time said they were seeing lots of this so that is why tech knew right away the fix. Do not understand why dealers will not use stock vacuum hose to repair so you can get back on the road instead of having to wait for OEM BRP parts. Now carry a length of hose in center cubby hole JIC.

That's actually not a bad idea at all!
If you get it in a different color; it'd be real easy to see what lines have been replaced. :2thumbs:

dry rott

yea this hoses blew out on me at 2600 mi on my 2012 Rt. kinda makes me wonder if this will happen again since they are BRP replacements. ..:banghead: I ordered some silicones hoses and will be replace them.:ani29:

I read earlier don't spare the $$ when purchasing the Silicone hoses because the cheap stuff has a tendency to collapse when heated and in a vacuum. Troubleshoot that one!

BRP Rep - Please Read This and Reply

BRP, I just tried the "Contact Us" form on your web site, asking about this issue, and asking if you plan to replace all the hoses that could leave me stranded on the side of the road, since they are of the same age and usage . . . and if one has failed, it is reasonable to assume the others are about to do so . . . and when I submitted it, I got: [h=2]"THIS IS THE END OF THE ROAD.[/h]
Sorry, our server could not complete your request." I'll rehash it, here, in the hopes that you are looking . . . You can read my first post in this thread . . . my Spyder is at Fredericksburg Motorsports, Virginia, over 100 miles from my home. It is apparent that this is an issue of which you should be aware, as I am not the first to have it. In fact, there is another Spyder at the dealership with the same issue, waiting for the same part. My Spyder is nine months old with just over 2,800 miles. A failure of this hose indicates that the other hoses may also fail . . . do you plan to replace all of them, or am I to assume I may be stranded, anytime I ride? How am I supposed to get to the dealership, over 100 miles from home, when my Spyder is repaired? The dealer would not provide a loaner, the simplest solution, whereby I could ride home on Saturday, and ride back when my Spyder is ready for pickup. My Spyder was at Hanover Motosports in Hanover PA on 18 March, and, had you been proactive regarding a known issue, those hoses could have been replaced and this would not have occurred . . . and why does your "Contact Us" form fail . . . this isn't the first time I've tried to use it, and I received the same results, last time . . . why even have it there, if it doesn't work . . . Changing the link to "Don't Bother Trying To Contact Us" would be more appropriate . . . :gaah:

A trip to Lowes or Napa, $.50 for a foot of 1/4 hose, pull left panel, replace both hoses with plenty of spare hose for your friends.

I am really sorry this happened to you.

And BRP's website issue is just turning the knife.
Something as simple as a hose should have been slipped on in a matter of minutes and you sent on your way.

I'm usually optimistic, but this is getting to me . . . I suspect the dealer needs to do the repair with BRP parts to get reimbursed under the warranty, which is why I am now without my Spyder . . . otherwise, they could have taped it and sent me on my way . . . also would have been nice if they pulled the part from a demo bike and ordered the replacement from BRP against my VIN . . .

hoses

sorry to hear about your problem. when your machine was inspected at the "heat recall" did it show any signs of melting brake cylinder or evaporative canister ??

Yes, they had to replace the master cylinder, parking brake cable, and charcoal canister . . . I suspect there is a direct relationship.
