There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I came out of a Wal Mart to find a guy sitting on my Spyder RT. His wife was standing beside him telling him to get off. I could see he was high on something so I put down my packages and zippered open my jacket.
Politely, I told him to get off the Spyder and pulled my jacket back to reveal my weapon.
He wasn't attempting to steal my Spyder and I'm not sure what he was doing counts as an illegal act. (Trespassing, maybe?).
His wife screamed, 'he's got a gun, Wayne!.
Whereupon Wayne tried to jump off but caught his foot on the passenger handle, failing on his face in the parking lot. Wayne and wife then raced out of the lot with wife trying to stem the blood flow with kleenex.
Now, I really didn't use the weapon, I just revealed it. Given this did not appear to be any kind of life-threatening situation, I doubt I would have unholstered it.
No LEO was involved although a spectator said she was ready to make a call if things got out of hand.

:agree: this board is about Spyders, and with the history of threads about guns (and other things) turning ugly. Makes me wonder why people continue to agitate this board with threads like this.

Folks can be civil. There's usually only a hand full of minorities who don't like a conversation and instead of ignoring cry foul.
That said, this is by far the most civil forum I've ever been on. It's why I'm still here, even though I no longer own a Spyder. It's fun to lurk and have conversations with good people.

Folks can (and should) be civil, but in the four years I have been reading this board. I have yet to see a thread on the rights to carry stay civil. I hope this thread proves me wrong.

That said, this is by far the most civil forum I've ever been on. It's why I'm still here, even though I no longer own a Spyder. It's fun to lurk and have conversations with good people.

Am down with all the stats. Just asked a simple question.
My sister is a cop, if these answers were public we would be surprised how much crime is out there.

I believe strongly in being prepared.
I believe in having a gun or four at hand.
I believe in helping whoever I can to be safe.
Even the ignorant who think we don't need guns.
With that said, I hope that I live in a great neighborhood.
I hope I never see anyone being threatened.
I hope no one has the nerve to try to take my life.
God forbid I see someone trying to take someone Else's life!

Am down with all the stats. Just asked a simple question.
The media doesn't want you to hear how often this happens, but it happens more than you would think. My husband and I both have conceal carry permits (as do both of my parents). I have one beside my bed and one in my truck (and many others for fun
). I have no problem with defending myself or my family if needed. I have made that decision ahead of time. It is a personal choice, one you have to think about very hard before you even strap on the gun. We have a philosophy. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

Have never revealed whether I carry or not, and never will. But, that's just me.

Carry what? :roflblack: seriously though, It fits well within the keep them guessing mantra and not everything should be about what we do or don't like. I don't smoke and can't stand to be around it either. That said, I voted against banning smoking in restaurants and bars, when it was on the AZ ballot years ago. Taking away rights, leads to taking away more rights. Anyone want to talk about the recent bans on e-cigarettes?
It's not okay to demonize an object or group to fulfill an agenda, regardless of what it may be or if "I" like or don't like it. I've lived in other countries under two oppressive regimes already, so I prefer to err on the side of liberty.
