• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

thanks

I do like the simple approach and low cost. I would expect that with time the holes will wear. I would have a look at some 1/4 turn camlock fasteners. The smaller style like 2600 or 2700 series.

These require a larger hole which could be a problem, but have a receptacle on the backside. Also they are spring to tension and will not work loose.

Smaller than full size Dzus and easier to latch.

If there is room, it may be the next step if your setup does wear the holes.

Looks good though.

well i like the idea of the camlock but with the vents on the bike i had to use 1 1/2 inch self tappers to go through both the vent and the body panel, do they will be too short and like i mentioned in my other post that the grommets were greased for easy on and off from the dealer, i was right they were greased on the left side also so i am glad i didn't lose both panels

I like the looks of your 3-screw fix! Too bad the dealer greased the grommets and caused you some anguish. Did you tell them greasing the grommets is a no-no? Might save the next guy from going through the same pain!

i haven't called the dealer about it yet but i will talk to him about it. most likely he will say that they didn't do it

Good looking fix. I was faced with the same type of fix on another project I was working on. I didn't want to see the screw head, it just didn't quite fit the overall look of the rest of the piece. I was able to find screw caps that blended in with the other finishes on the project. I was also afraid the vibration of the machine was going to cause the screw cup washer to break the surface of the paint and wreck the paint over time.

I'm wonder if the cap could be color matched with the yellow.
