• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ryde Today...A Bust!

It was a total bust.
Originally we planned on Ryding from our house in Redlands to the artsy-fartsy movies in Clairmont...seeing the show, eating, Ryding home.

Up on the I-10 super slab heading West. 75 MPH good to go...about 25 miles down the highway and the famous winds hit us. The side gusts were 60 to 70 MPH. Not a light breeze. So I slowed down. I saw a pedestal table fly out of a pick up truck and land upside down in the middle of my lane. I then saw a UPS semi-truck fall over on its side...just in front of me but a little to the right. I laid on the horn, cranked the throttle as tight as I could and got th H outta there.

Wife and I took the next off ramp, and headed back to the barn on surface streets. It was just too :cus: windy.

Wow crazy stuff. Glad you are both safe. I also came back from Daytona Beach yesterday to NC to get my first service done and then back home today. Both days where also very windy here in NC and VA.

Usually the wind doesn't bother me .... But holy moly! This was some kind of special!

santa ana conditions

Were you on the 210 or the 10. My guess is you were on the 210 west of the 15.

On the KTM in the mountains today. It was howling on the ridge tops and through the canyon cuts. But, nothing like it blows below Cajon.

This occurred on the 10 near Rialto and Fontana.

I know how you feel about wind. Two weeks ago for the first time I experienced ryding if HEAVY fog while going to work. Scared me so much I went home, called in a floating holiday, and later when it cleared up went ryding :ohyea:

Call me next time we can go ryding together.

Wow, I don't mind riding in the wind but I too would draw the line at seeing the UPS truck roll over!

That's why I guessed 210.....pretty common occurence there when the Santa Anas are blowing. Tho, the area he was in is also known for bad wind. Almost met my maker in the same spot back in the 60's....me on a bike and another toppled truck incident.

bad ride

I think I met you today in WS. I am the guy with the yellow 2013 RTS SM 5 that was having my first service and laser alignment. The tech said my alignment was spot on. The buffeting is what is aggravating to me. Any suggestions?

Dan,
You still looking for those chrome grill covers? I could not sell the ones I have, so you want them? In good shape, but no mounting hardware (tie strap or bolt)? I can bring them with me on Saturday, or the next time I see you.
