• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

NOT happy with BRP

sorry to say

To me this is all just words till we see something happen, she should not be going through this at all...especially this long. :(

.

i am really sorry to say that all dealings we have seem to be NOT what we heard. i think all spyder riders with problems need to have our hearing checked b4 dealing with people at BRP. just my opinion

You shouldn't have too, but some times it pays to record telephone calls. Unrelated; but I work from home and do a lot of conference calls that end up in he said she said situations. I purchased a digital audio recorder from Amazon and now always record my telephone conversions. The files can be saved as mp3 files and emailed as minutes of the meeting. Save my butt a few times.....

Fingers crossed you get this resolved to your liking.

harry

If you do record, you best apprise the other party that the conversation is being recorded. To do it with an "unknowing party" is a felony (at least in the State of Flarda).

Chris

BRP has never promised me anything with the problems i have had, but once i mentioned law suit they will not talk to me with E mails, only on the phone.

As soon as you mention law suit to ANY corporation they're going to do the same thing. That's why it's not a good thing to just bandy the term around...unless you've got a lawyer ready to go it's only going to go against you.

I am going to take a WAG and guess what was asked for was the new 2014 panels we all know can be retrofitted. If it was I see no reason at this point for BRP not to eat the cost. They want ~$900 for them I bet actual cost less than $500.They should be supplying them to 2013 owners at cost. I really wonder the profit margin they make but last year was record year for profits as the company is now public. It would be a small cost to create good will with one of the most problematic and well documented ST issues they have had. Only person to have a worse issue was Ann and we do not know what they did to make her happy either but I bet they did something. The time we spend trying to get our problems fixed is worth something. How much would a 700mi. tow cost, and her husband would be rich if he got flat rate for the work he has done on FB's bike. How much is my time worth when I had to take 5 hrs (including repair time) to get a fuse box and ecm update? I used to make over $30 an hour so my time is free for them? Just my humble opinion BRP you owe her more than lip service.

After reading this and the other comments I have put my checkbook back in the drawer. I was about to pull the trigger on a RT S. I had become convinced BRP was more responsive then HD. The 2014 TriGlide was in the race but I have experience with HD so decided on the Spyder.

I know HD customer service. I am now wondering it the "devil you know......"

Waiting to hear BRP response AND True follow thru.

Just remember, there are a lot of people who have NOT had problems with BRP or their dealers. Not saying her problems aren't real...I know they are...but it's not the norm. At least in my experience.

BRP really !

so, BRP clearly made a statement on this forum to NOT compensate the lady FB , and so far it has bitten them in the ass. my bro and my son in law will not be
buying one, went with HD trike + 1 on the forum. I mean -short of new bike comp. how simple would it have been...... now they lost 100k or so just here! .
ESi cycle screwed me over on warranty of their junk pos fender lights and now I bad mouth them every where I go to stay away from them. KARMA -same thing.

We may never know the true outcome of any corrective action. Having lived through a similar experience with an unrelated and far more expensive product. Once the harmed party agrees to what they deem a satisfactory reconciliation of the problem. They generally have to agree to never discuss the outcome and are forewarned they will face legal backlash if they do. In reading FB's post they were very near such an agreement - prior to this post.

Corporate damage control 101. Only grease the noiseist wheel(s).

:agree: Sad but True!! And the less vocal, demanding or too timid to do Lemmon Law or other proceedings will slowly but surely fade into the sunset?

"Hell will freeze over before I Buy another Spyder!" Unless the 2013 problems are fixed or the individuals justly compensated!!nojoke

Alot of companys state at the beginning of the call

This call may be monitored or recorded for quality purposes. In this case it might be the quality of the lies.

Fill in the blanks

Fb, please fill in the specifics of what you asked for and didn't get. Bp just stated you won't get it, so why keep it a secret, now? Inquiring minds would like to know. This post is impt in helping us determine how serious brp is about taking care of future problems in our decision to make purchases from them.

Most of you know my experience with the Spyder brand. I lurked on this forum for over a year before I pulled the trigger on a 2012 RT. It's been well documented on this forum that I've been very happy with my purchase. My dealer has treated me as royalty and I couldn't be happier. After a year of owning my Spyder and lurking again for almost a year on two Triumph forums I added a 2013 Bonneville T100 to my stable. i just need the two wheel thrill while bumming around town.

So where am I going with this?

It is my opinion that the difference between BRP Customer Service and Triumph Customer Service is NIGHT & DAY. I think BRP support to the dealer is the weakest link in the chain. I can't believe some of the things I hear my fellow Spyder pilots go through to get something resolved, if it is resolved at all. Someone at BRP needs to come to grip with the reality that our perception of their product is dictated by the experiences we have and experiences of others we read here. I feel like I've dodged a bullet. For the money I've spent, I'm not a betting man. If something would happen today and I had to replace the Spyder...it wouldn't be with another Spyder. I don't like the odds, with BRP customer service and dealer support, the risk is overwhelming against me.

Just one more thing. I've noticed on this particular thread and some others like it, that most of the "BRP Friendly" advocates are responding with tones of concern and perhaps BRP's behavior is starting to wear thin on them also.

I have been researching a possible purchase.
I currently own many motorcycles and am familiar with their problems.
I am shocked at how this company treats their customers.
Don't they realize they are niche market? Only so many people want a Spyder or can afford one.
I can't think of any other luxury brand that treats their customers like I have been reading on the forums.
The switch from email to phone is alarming. Lesson learned for everyone. Recordings don't matter. Emails do.

Buying a Spyder to me seems to be a gamble. Either I get a good unit or I get a problematic unit and industry leading poor customer service. I am still on the fence, but leaning more towards not buying with every negative post I read.

I wouldn't read to much into it. I'd bet the members here make up a very small percentage of spyders sold.
Also, Except for an even smaller percentage of true enthusiast figure that most people come to a forum in search of a solution to a problem, so that makes the forums look ugly. They are all pretty much the same.
The majority of Spyder riders have no idea what spyderlovers is and do nothing but enjoy the ride.

I'm enjoying my ride and have no issues with it.

And I totally agree that forums have more bad stories than they do good....by a long shot.

But in this case it "seems" unacceptable what is happening....and that is said from the standpoint of knowing 1/10th of what is really going on. lol

Nervous

I have been to two dealerships in the last two weeks getting quotes on 14 RT limited here in NH. Planning on my 4th visit and final quote from another dealership and then a decision on who to purchase from. I have been thinking / planning this since September and have been Lurking here for a little bit. But I must admit I am getting nervous.

Thanks for the Post and the warnings. I might have to at least consider a Plan B.
