Ice Storm near SC coast

over 2k without power around me keep getting power surges glad I have APC backup. Power lines and trees falling under 1/2"+ of ice but my wife insisted on going shopping with her mother :yikes: . Oh to be a northerner but I am worried about the people around here that have to slow down when it sprinkles. Took me 45 min to get the ice off her car. I am holding down the fort but she may come home to 2 catsicles and one Davesicle. :shocked:

Keeps blinking here I have been watching the local utilities web sites and the number is over 20k out right now and NMB/Calabash is among them. Lotsa trees and powerlines are dropping.

Here in Northeast Tenn. it started snowing around noon. Luckily it is only wet snow and not ice, the ice is staying south and east of us. A little ice can do a lot of damage. Good luck!

Started snowing again here this morning, turned to sleet/freezing rain this afternoon. Haven't heard anything from anyone around Wilmington, NC. News is showing traffic at dead stop on I85 near Durham. I40 stopped, Durham Freeway stopped. Looks like Atlanta last week. The EOC has been saying all weekend, be ready, stay home. Stay off the roads. People went to work this morning in Raleigh and Durham because they didn't get anything yesterday. It was forecast to hit there this morning. I know people can't stay home from work, but use common sense. Hope y'all fair well. Generator is gassed up and ready to go.

Lights are flickering here now. Lost satellite, the LNB is iced over. Looks like we'll be watching what's on the DVR. Going to be a long, cold night. Last big ice storm we had, I was still a volunteer firefighter. We spent the night clearing fallen trees and limbs, responding to wrecks, one house fire caused by the homeowner putting a bucket of hot coals from his fireplace on his deck.

Tomorrow where I live Will bring 12-18 inches of snow. I look at my Spyder In the garage and think dang I wish this would go away so I can ryde. Well, maybe in April or May. Se will see...

80k without power. State of emergency declared. Feds are involved. I spent the evening hammering 2" of ice off of my heat pump and melting the drains with my 800deg heat gun. :yikes: More ice on the way it won't get above freezing till noon tomorrow.

Only if you drive your Spyder here to get them..... Oh that's right you don't have one :roflblack: Mine is resting and it is supposed to be in the mid 60's in 3 days What weird weather this is one for the books around here trees down everywhere. I hope I don't wake up as a Davesicle.

My truck is one big ice cube. It would take a rubber mallet to bang on the ice to get a door open. So, I'm not going anywhere. I've downloaded a bunch of movies from www.yify-torrents.com that I can watch. I'm good!
