• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Everyday I walk past my Spyder in the garage. I want to jump on it and ride! this weekend was actually ok and I could have but there was so much salt on the roads...I didn't want to get her all dirty. I have added some many farkles over the winter, I cant wait to go show them off! We got more snow today...calling for an ice storm Wednesday and a BIG snow this Saturday!! UGH!!:banghead: I hate that stupid Groundhog...six more weeks?? I won't make it!!! It just figures that I FINALLY get a beautiful toy this fall and we have the worst winter on record! At least I am heading down to Bike Week in a few weeks:yes:

If you are going by it every day, you could have the most well polished :spyder2: in the universe--just by doing a little bit each day.

I am still trying to get up the energy for my two. :roflblack:

P.M.S. is a real bugger; ain't it? :gaah:

Visit some dealerships, do some online shopping, buy a couple of magazines, and polish your :spyder2: again...

It won't help; but it WILL pass some time!

Going nuts

You're not alone my friend. I like the visibility contrast offered by the Lava Brown but there are traction problems. I guess it makes you appreciate those summer days we can ride even more. Last summer I recall how miserable it felt riding for 20 miles in the rain. Now I look back on it and think that getting drenched wasn't to bad.

It's the same here in PA... so much salt on the roads... vehicles are all gray/white. So ready for spring/summer.

I could be worse. I actually got to ride my new 2013 RT-S for the first time Saturday and then it rains and rains and is still raining. Oh yeah its going to be 56 degrees this afternoon and raining. It's killing me. Before the rain stops we are supposed to get about 3 inches of rain. UGH!!!

That's a toad-strangler; for sure!
gas up the outboard, and tie it to the back porch!

Bob

From your advice i can see that you are also affected by the PMS or in your case NMS (No Motorcycle Syndrom) :roflblack:

Trust me...it is already the cleanest spyder on the planet!! Wax-on...wax-off:clap:

STUDS

If I lived in one of those northern states, I would purchase me an extra set of tires and wheels and mount them with studs. That way I could still get out there at times and enjoy the ride. Has anyone looked in to doing something like this?

Look at Seth0 on spyderlovers - he has video driving in the snow with his spyder. CRAZY!!

I was out for a quick ryde on Saturday (it was 60F in southern Ohio) and then Monday we got nailed with snow. Tonight we will get rain/ice - so my spyder will be placed back into hibernation for another month or so.

Walk in my garage & the spYder is sleeping next to the snowmobile. Can't ride either right now:yikes::yikes::yikes:. Is there such a thing as PMS/PSS at the same time?

My dealer tried putting studs on his and that did not last long. You can go, but it is still hard to stop on ice. The other problem, IMO, is that you can't be sure about what the other drivers are doing. I would not want to be in the path of an out of control anything. There are mostly SUV's and pick ups to deal with here.

As much as I dislike it, I park my Spyder when ice and snow are on the roads.
