• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Robin and I rode the final leg of the trip today and arrived safely at home. Some stats from the trip

  • My total miles for the trip 2,287

  • 69.335 gallons of gas used on 2,194 miles for an average 31.64 mpg. High of 39.32 and a low of 22.89 mpg The high was on 2 lane mountain road 55 mph and the low was on I-10 80 mph with a 40 mph headwind.
  • 9 Ladies
  • 1 Man
  • 9 Spyders; 5 - RTs, 2 RSs, 2 STs
  • 2 Spyders Vandalized
  • 2 Spyders broke down
  • 3 National parks visited White Sands, Carlsbad Caverns & Guadalupe Mountains National Park
  • Temperature ranged from mid 30s to 70.
  • No rain!!!
  • Tons of fun was had by all.

The 2014 RT Limited was pretty much perfect. It rides so smooth that you might forget you aren't in a car. It hasn't used any oil yet (5,100 miles) and is going in for the 3,000 mile service on Thursday. I didn't get to appreciate the extended range due to traveling with older models and the scarcity of stations along the route. It would have been nice to have the backrest and I wish the seat was a little firmer. The handling was great on the mountain roads and even with a passenger it handled well.

2 questions?

It says "ladys only", but you mention one man in attendance?

And 2, was this just a weekend that you put on 2200 miles? I've had my bike almost 5 months and haven't broken 1000 miles yet. :roflblack:

.

well Snoopy....you need to get out and ride.....the man was my husband ...he came to pick up my Spyder and me...he drove 666.1 miles in truck and trailer to get me...then we rode home

Thanks for sharing the pics and the stats, Ann. Sounds like you ladies had an awesome time, even with some unexpected bad stuff.

We had to rename the event "The Ladies Only and Mark Weekend"

The mileage was in one week. I've put nearly 4,000 miles on the test Spyder since January 2nd. If you've only put 1000 miles on yours in 5 months you need to step away from the computer and get out and ride.

Two Spyders vandalized? What happened? That really stinks!

We were parked at a restaurant parking lot and someone smashed the mud flap on my Spyder and they must have jumped on the fender of another bending the support and knocking off the reflector cover on another.

Ann,
Thanks for the report!
It's a good thing that Mark found an extra tenth of a mile to travel... (666.1)

Breakdown percentage seems high. What were the problems?
glad everyone was safe.

You would think that you are right but we are talking about the sometimes finicky Spyder. Charlyne (FlamingoBabe) had the O2 sensor fall out of her 2013 ST which. The other girl had a 2010 RT and it would shut down when she would try to shift into 1st. I do not believe that she has had regular maintenance performed on it and that may have contributed to her problems. The dealer hooked her up to BUDS and updated the ECM which seemed to take care of the problems.

Trip Report

Ann

Thanks for the trip report it sounds like you ladies had a good time. Even with the fact that the trailer queen lived up to her name.

What were the two ladies doing to the Pearl Spyder?

we were determining what was wrong....O2 sensor blew out...disconnecting sensor...replacing sensor into exhaust careful not to twist wires...realized it was not going to stay put...called Mark to drive 666.1 miles to get me ...and replace sensor and panels...for it's trip on the trailer...another 666.1 miles....he is a good man...we carry our own tools...and know how to use them

They might have been considering which octane fuel was required, to start a fire with a Spyder! :roflblack: :joke::joke::joke::joke:
