There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Getting very confused on iPhone 5 use thru RT

I need CB and iPhone 5 use for getting call notifications etc AND music with control thru the bike radio controls for our touring.

My dealer is saying that the iPod connector will not work with the iPhone 5 because of the connector. They have not found an adaptor that allows the Spyder to control the music selection etc. I understand this and realize the iPud connector is not what I want anyway. He is not sure if the iPhone 5 will work thru the Bike with the Cellphone Interface.

I want the full use of the iPhone 5 thru the bike. Will the GPS Kit along with the Cellphone Interface kit allow total use of iPhone 5 in a wired helmet connection? OR would i also need the iPod connector to control the music selection features etc?

Blue Tooth Is the Answer

I would suggest that you invest in a Bluetooth Communication system. You pare it to your iPhone 5, listen to music from that phone, receive calls with a tap ( most of the time people don't even know I am ryding) pair it to your GPS (I usually have the sound off on mine) and communicate with a passenger, and that should not cost more than $200 or $300.

I purchased the SENA bluetooth/interface and also paired with GPS, as well as Iphone 5.....verrrrrry pleased with result.

I use the Sena bluetooth with my two wheel set up. I need wired cuz I need CB. CB will not work with the Bluetooth.

Thanks for your reply.

All you need is the iPhone 5 to iphone 4 connector adapter and it will work!
The iPhone 5 has the Apple lightning connector. The Spyder cable has the older large connector. Many companies make adapters! Your dealer is wrong.

Thanks. I couldn't understand why it wouldn't work.

If you use the SR10 from Sena it Bluetooths the CB. I have one. Works pretty good. Don't know if you can use the factory CB with it, I use a Midland 75-822. I am running everything you have and the CB now with Bluetooth.

Say what you want about wired comm systems, but that stuff sure seems easier to integrate (and combine) with my Starcom1 wired system.
