3000 Mile 2014 RT LTD Update

Well I have logged over 3000 2014 Rt LTD miles since Christmas Eve. Many of you read my 1000 mile report after the first week. Not a lot to add, except no problems at all. Mine was bike number One assembled in Florida so I watched close for the oil issue but no leak and no usage. One thing I didn't realize at first but I now do - the start up sequence from key to actual start is now just over 12 seconds much faster than my 2012.
I still plan to add the BajaRon Anti Sway bar for crosswind protection on the highway and have laser alignment after that is added, but I am happy with the suspension and shocks otherwise and I have ridden it hard through hills and curves usually at twice the posted speed. I LOVE THIS MACHINE!!!!!

Glad to hear of your 3,000 happy and trouble free miles. Things are looking good based on your report so far.

If we were statisticians, we need at least 27 reports for a good statistical sample.

I think it is good that we are now into the picky stuff. Also interested in what you are currently getting on mileage.

I HAVE BEEN RIDING "VERY HARD" SO HAVE NOT FOCUSED ON MILEAGE CHECKS.. NOW THAT I AM READY TO EASE OFF A BIT I WILL RECHECK THE MILEAGE READINGS AGAIN

Way to go,

Had the Laser Alignment and Sway Bar done at Spyderpops today.

More control, less sway and running straighter now with less effort.

It was worth the wait.

Still only 600 + Miles (work keeps getting in the way, at least until March 31)

Really noticeable difference with sway bar?

I really like that the start up is so much quicker. And I also noticed that you can shut it down for a lot longer without it having to reboot. I'm at 1,400 miles but I leave on Wednesday for a trip to NM with the ladies and I should get 2,000 on that trip.

Hal, have you noticed any harmonic vibration at 75 mph?

Thanks for the Info!!

I will definitely be interested in a Baja Ron sway bar for sure. The other is a driver backrest. As I understand it the Can Am backrest is expensive and also not adjustable. I might have to consider an aftermarket one such as Utopia which is adjustable and probably less expensive. My bad old back requires a backrest.

Funny, I noticed no difference without the sway bar. My concern is that the 2014s are not coming from the factory correctly aligned in the first place. It has been going on this way for years by BRP. In my opinion, proper alignment is a fundamental safety requirement for a vehicle. My 2011 was checked by the dealer that said it was in spec. It continued to hunt on the freeway for 2 years until I had it checked with laser and found out it was way off. After getting it properly aligned it was on rails.

Alignment shops have been using laser for years, if BRP is not they should be doing so. After I get my new one I will contact National Highway Traffic & Safety Administration (is this the correct agency for vehicle safety?) if I find it is out of spec. There is no way buyers should be paying to get their new machines realigned. I would be interested to see how far off all those that have had it aligned were off.

to spec means it has to be that close to sell to the public, and thats not as close as a lazer gets it ,it would take too long for the factor to do the lazer,so they just get it close enough to release to the public ,so its up to you if you want it better than that.and yes they are good enough for all the safety people to let them do it that way.:chat:

Thanks..!!

this is our best source for the product review. I bet it is for brp as well. Where else can they get honesty like this...!! :ohyea:
