• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Stupid Question ... cluster

Picture looks like a 1956 DeSoto.
How many remember when gas fillers were hidden behind taillites or license plates?

Here's one.....can anyone guess the make and model?
My guess is a 56 Desoto Sportsman. I don't think old cars count for the fuel door rule.

My frist car had the gas filler in front of the windshield, in the middle of the cowl, gravity feed no fuel pump, just a shut off value:clap:

Let's see, 56 Chevy, left taillight, middle of cowl, probably a Model A Ford. How about under the front seat, gravity feed, had to back up steep hills.

GM was famous for hiding the fillers in the 50's.....here's a '52 Caddy, you had to push on the reflector to unlock it.

Location of fuel door

My wife just reminded me that the fuel gauge is on the right side of the cluster while the fuel foor is on the left on her 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid. Shoot! I was hoping you were right.

Good, I have an example. Now I can email my friend back that he's wrong. :D

my wife's honda FIT has the gauge on the right, door on the left. (but still has an arrow)
My Yamaha has no gauge, but fills in the center...so I guess we;re even

I had an old Chevy pickup that had the fuel filler neck right by the driver's door handle. Never had to wonder what side to fill up on. :D

I had one of those, a '72....the leaky tank was in the cab behind the seat!

Mine was a mid 60's model. The box was rusted out so I removed it and made it a flatbed. I learned to drive in my grandfather's 56 Chevy truck. Fun times. :2thumbs:

Ummm, I forgot, how does all this relate to the Spyder. :opps: :opps: :D
