• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What :spyder2: related Xmas gift did you get?
was Santa good to me? This was the best Christmas of my life...my 63 year life....(names changed below to provide safety)

see my post here, http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?61462-CHRISTMAS-1971,

then just imagine that person standing at your front door, 42 years later...She was knocking on my door, I was just mopping the front hall. She was pounding on the door, I opened the door, and saw an LAPD sergeant in full dress class A uniform standing at attention. She was "Police Academy" graduation inspection dressed. Spit shined shoes, perfect recruit-hair bun, shined Sam Browne, glistening badge and brass, military ribbons, perfectly pressed military creases without a wrinkle.

I immediately became came afraid that the sergeant was bringing me sad news about someone I care about. But no. She was too dressed up.

I looked at her name tag, it read "Wilcox". I said, "Sergeant Wilcox, how can I help you." She retorted, "officer Ashley?" I responded "retired--IOD 1979." Wilcox asked, "Serial 17354?"

My response was a feebly stated, "Yes." I hated myself for sounding weak and unsteady. Ashamed maybe.

She said, "I couldn't find you, and the personnel department wouldn't give me your address until I got my sergeant stripes". I swallowed hard, even though my throat was dry. She continued, "Do you remember me?"

I stated, "I retired 34 years ago, injured on duty. I recall very few people from then...and you would have been too young to know me--I think."

She said, "I am Susan Wilcox."

"Do you remember Christmas Eve in 1971? " I was too stunned to remember anything. She said, "I am the baby the baby you found on Christmas Eve."

I exhaled loudly and pointed a bent forefinger in an unspoken, but not un-understood "You?" She said, "Yes."

She explained that she had graduated with a masters degree in criminal justice and joined the finest police force in the nation, The LAPD. She said the her mother was in the car--a brand new LAPD cruiser, parked in my driveway.

I invited them in, and apologized for the partially mopped floor.

We talked for about an hour. I teared up more than once.

Santa Claus visited my house personally this Christmas. His real name is Sergeant Susan Wilcox, LAPD. And, by the way, she is quite the looker.

AWESOME!

The credit goes to those gentlemen who were my teachers. The training officers who provided the skills:
1. Officer Thomas Pampa
2. Officer Richard Sweet
3. Officer James Pampamous
4. Sergeant Grant
5. Sergeant Armado
6. Lieutenant .... forgot his name....

These are the people who taught me. I merely followed their lead. Without the knowledge, skills, and abilities these men provided to me, I could have done very little to help that child. These are the gentlemen who deserve credit. ...and this is what I told Sergeant Susan Wilcox.

I got to take The blue bug to Louis Powersports to have them install my JM spyder speakers.... Now I can cruise at full speed and have radio and full volume...

Other than that, Santa brought me a 2014 Toyota Tundra! now I need a trailer tote the Spyder...
