There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Battery Tender

So I received one item for my Spyder for Christmas - it was a Battery Tender.

I have read comments about the Battery Tender Jr., and would like to know if there is any difference between Senior and Junior? ;) Besides the price.

Thanks.

Sure.
The junior is a .75 amp charger, the regular model is a 1.25 amp charger. The junior has a 2 year warranty and the reg. model has a 5 year warranty.

I use the junior and keep it plugged in year round. I would suppose that the regular model would aid in charging quicker from a dead battery.

That's what I was thinking - but needed some of the knowledgeable people on this forum to confirm that.

I am part of the demographic that Bombardier made the Spyder for - middle aged guy who has never ridden a 2 wheeler. So I am just starting to learn all of the things that are needed for open air transportation.

My wife said its my midlife crisis. I told her it was better then a 21 year old blonde - the Spyder is lower maintenance, and no divorce needed.

Battery Tender is Great

I use the Junior model and found that keeping the battery charged fully extends the life of the battery. Have several of these, so try to keep batteries on everything not used frequently charged up.

I also have the Juniors. One on each :spyder2:. They stay plugged in from shutdown to start up time. This year--November through March? One is four plus years old and the other is two plus. No problems, and each year the :ani29:'s start right up when its time to go.

Scotty also recommends no interim start ups/warm ups. They do not get warmed up enough for the fluids to reach operating temperatures.

Ditto

I use mine from shutdown (3 days ago) until Spring "thaw"...never unplug....4th year/70K on original battery...am pretty sure using the battery tender has extended "it's" life...
