• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Almost Ripped off?

My brother in law needed new tires for his 2012 Hyundai. He went to a large club store and was told they didn't make 16" tires anymore, he would have to go to 17" tires. Then he went to a big box store and they said they were out of stock. probably wouldn't be getting any in. He finally found a set at a local tire center. They were down for Thanksgiving and he told me his tale. I told him that 16" tires are still being manufactured. Even talked to a friend who works at a large tire plant. He confirmed "they" were still rolling 16" tires out the door. So, was this guy at the "club" store trying to rip my BIL off?

I asked him why he needed tires already. He said the fronts were worn/cupped. I told him he needed to have the alignment and shocks checked. Which he said he did. I asked him how often he checks pressure and he said he has them do it when it's serviced. I told him to go to Wal Mart and get a tire gauge and put it in the car and check the pressure at least once a month. I love my B-I-L but he has very little mechanical knowledge. :banghead: And he hates being wrong.

After what I read and you gave him the 411 but still butted heads on your suggestions, I would leave your B-I-L with the "no more 16 inch tires are made" and go to the large club's 17 inch tires. His money, not yours!

However... I would not go to the big box... at least that particular one because it seems the seller wanted to get rid of inventory at the excuse of not having the other ones ordered. I always do my homework, and if I hear otherwise, I just go to the next place.

Interesting..!!

did the 17" tires from the first place come with...lets say $1,200.00 worth of rims..?? :roflblack: I always start online then I know whats out there or can get my own tires and have them mounted..

What's the difference between In-Laws and Outlaws??

Outlaws are wanted!!

 sorry...

"And he hates being wrong"

That's not exclusive to BIL's. Have a brother who would bleed out in front of you before admitting he was wrong. Learned from it tho. When you're wrong. Own it and move on.

:agree: :2thumbs:

And I WAS wrong once...
I thought that I had made a mistake; I hadn't! :D

When I was working for *** if I made a mistake on the job I admitted it. Very early in my career with *** my boss got a call from one of my customers when I admitted to said customer I made a mistake. He couldn't believe I didn't try to cover up what had happened. Like Jerbear said, if you make it, own it. I rather spend 5 minutes explaining my mistake than the rest of my career looking over my shoulder.
