• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Anyone Use the Superclamp?

I have an enclosed motorcycle trailer and am looking for a good tie down method. Sometimes it will just be hauling the Spyder, but sometimes it will haul both the Spyder and my Indian Chieftain?

I just put eye bolts in the floor and tie down like it says in the owners manual. Works fine. Lots cheaper than Superclamp too.

I don't own them, but the Superclamps are very good (albeit expensive). They make for secure transport and quick tie-down.

Another approach, which I use in my trailer is the Ancra aircraft style tie-downs. https://www.denniskirk.com/ancra/tie-down-anchor.p4039.prd/4039.sku If you use conventional tie-downs like these, you will need some kind of chocks for the front wheels. I use RV chocks from Walmart for the Spyders and Pingel removable chocks for the bikes.

Superclamp

I have the superclamp system. Hubby puts his 1300 Vstar in the back of the truck and sometimes pulls my spyder on an aluma trailer. Superclamp works great!!!!

No doubt; they work great! :2thumbs:
But, they are going to pretty much set your trailer up for only carrying the Spyder...

tow dolly

I have been thinking of using a set to convert a tow dolly in trailer for spyder. By putting superclamp in the tire area of tow dolly for a good tie down. If any one knows the length of clamp I could use that info. I e mail superc but have not heard back from.

There are some very unpleasant things that can happen to a Spyder if it is towed with the rear wheel turning (just like some automobiles). You might be able to get around the problem of no lubrication to the transmission by pulling the drive belt each time, but that would entail removing teh rear wheel twice for each trip. I urge you to rethink your plans.

tow dolly mod

The super clamp was for the front modification.
There will be a rear modification to keep rear tire off ground.

Great product

Love them we put them in the toy hauler quick and easy tie down.

I would recommend them to anyone, not cheap but worth it!

Do you see a problem with putting a spyder with the manual tranny on a dolly.....seems like a good way to tow it behind my motorhome:dontknow::dontknow::dontknow::dontknow:

superclamps are the best. they are on deal, I think for $389.00 now. when you look at what you spent on the spyder, it's only a mere pittance as an insurance policy!! wouldn't tie mine down any other way!! it takes one minute at most to secure the bike and strap it from the foot pegs.

SC with SB?

Has anyone used the SuperClamp system with a Spyder that has Seal Boards? Just wondering about tying her down without the footpegs.
