2013 RSS audio system

Does anyone know if the AM?FM Integrated audio system #219400464 will work with a 2013 rss and can it be controled with the multi function switch and display on the lcd screen? I realise I will have to buy or fabricate speaker pods. I would think that the wiring harness would be the same between the RSS and ST as they are built on the same platform. It would sure be nice to control the audio system through the factory assembly.

welcome tarantula. that's an interesting question. i would call len at pitbull , see what he thinks. i've got you covered on the speaker pods, unless you WANT to spend a thousand dollars. the write up is on the diy board.

I personally don't know for sure:dontknow: but I'd be inclined to think that the RT & ST would have a better chance of sharing the same or similar wiring harness in reference to audio since they BOTH offer the Audio Package, but as far as I'm aware, the RS (in any trim level) doesn't even offer the audio package.

I'd have to agree with Coz & suggest giving Len at PitBull PowerSports a call & he can confirm what you need. His number is in the picture. Also, Teddy & I would like to say...........

Have you ever gone digging around in your cars wiring and found wires with plugs not connected to anything.........That's because your particular car isn't equipped with that piece of optional equipment. But the manufacturer put it in the wiring harness anyway because it's MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE to make one wiring harness than to make individual harnesses for each particular car/trk etc.,...........I wouldn't be surprised if BRP did the same thing with the Spyders.....just a thought..........Mike :thumbup:

you can get a shark system 100wt or 200 wt a lot less than from brp,i got the 100wt on my scooter and had a 200wt on my harley and switched it to my rs and worked fine i got 200 songs on a sandisk and works grate,i also put a radio on for a while but the radio wasent loud enough with out a amp.:chat: the 100wt was about 65 dollars and the 200wt was about 95 dollars.

The main wiring harness for ST series and RT series are the same. The RS series is different. So if you get the radio and audio harness there would be nothing on the main harness to plug into. Now if you did custom wire it in. I don't see any reason that the cluster would not recognise the radio and give you control. That is on the RSS only, the RS has a different cluster.

I would just like to add that Shark is now selling ( check E-Bay ) 300 to 600 Amp models with WIRED remote controls for similar prices as above. Having a very small wired remote is very,very handy, just check what that model comes with.....not all have them........Mike :yes::yes::yes: :thumbup:
