• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

It's Official no 2014's till January

At a great personal sacrifice; I'm humbly offering my services as a riding partner for you... ;) :D
After all; wouldn't two opinions be better than one?

Bob, I have a better offer for you. You are welcome to borrow my spare Spyder until yours comes in. Attached is a picture of her.

Maybe they just don't need the money right now :dontknow::joke:

Com'on Lamont...you know, as with any company, they do need the money. So for them to delay the release, they maybe being smart and making sure they don't have to do the recall thing(s), etc. From what you have explained in other posts, the issues have been addressed:bowdown: and or fixed. And remember good things come to those who wait :shemademe_smilie:....

World Wide Distribution

I am not sure how many assembly facilities BRP has for the Spyder, but would they not ship to the southern hemisphere dealers first. They just opened the Japanese market for 2014, all of these new dealers need product. It would be interesting if some of our southern members would chime in with reports of new spyders at the dealers. Ohhh...they may be out riding in the nice spring weather!:yes: Just my thoughts no facts.

happy

i wish they did it with the 13's at least you know your going to get a bike that was tested well and hope they found any problems b4 they market it

This really isn't delayed that much. I don't know where the October delivery idea came from, but in previous years BRP has not had demo units available before October/Novemebr, and deliveries generally started in late November or even late December. I had one of the first production RT's, and that showed up between Christmas and New Years. My second RT showed up around the same time, and it was the first delivered to my dealer. BRP may be guilty of falsely getting hopes up, but January deliveries really are close to the norm.

There is only one assembly plant for the Spyder and it's here in Valcourt (Quebec).

:agree: I got the first 2011 RTS SE5 delivered in the state of Florida. Bought it Dec 3,2010. The same day it was delivered. Had a Limited on order, but didn't want to wait. It didn't arrive till early March.

Doesn't feel good to be blown off and not get answers does it? Welcome to the hell a 2013 owner has! You can't get ahold of a new one on order and we (heat issue owners) wish they had kept ours just a little longer. Kinda makes you wonder if they are finding the same problems on the 14's and now trying to address them before the public get's their hands on them.

Scotty, my dealer printed out his delivery schedule for me. He had 5 coming in Oct/Nov according to the BRP dealer site. Mine is in the first shipment. Guess I wait til January. As some have voiced, I'm hoping for a reliable ride like my 2010 has been for me. I would rather wait now then during the middle of riding season because of a recall.

Funny how the general consensus is BRP is delaying the delivery so they can fix problems before the 2014 RT's are shipped. No one knows if that is true or not. There are a multitude of reasons that could delay shipment that do not relate to the preconceived notion of problems with the units.

Time will tell. I do appreciate that BRP has notified us of the delay even though they have not given specific details.

Well lets see.
GS/RS- DPS issues were fixed after sale. Pretty major recall
RT had major amount of throttle body issues, another major deal fixed after sale.
2013 had ball joint issues right out of the gate and had to be recalled.

So if they can catch something now and fix it I think that's a good thing, sorry you don't see it that way Bro.

I apologize for my heated knee-jerk reaction I posted earlier.

I had 2 fairly problem free Spyders the first one with 26,000 miles
the second with 9000 when I traded in.

I do remember I received the first one in November because BRP
call Thanksgiving day 2007 and told me not to drive it anymore
that they would come pick it up because of a brake issue.

I have not had to deal with the problems that some of you had
with the heat that the 13 and other issues you have.

I don't know whose information got mixed up my dealer even this

Tuesday still was under the impression that my presold unit was
allocated to late October or late November delivery and he had
not received anything any different from BRP so when I saw BRP
post for mid January first deliveries I temporarily lost it.:chill:

If there is a issue or problem it is better to wait to get it fixed at

the factory then try to deal with it at the dealerships.

Time should not be the issue.

:agree:

So... Who's up for a rip-rousing lowdown, mudslinging name-calling game of Monopoly to help pass the time? ;)

Bain Capital

Just joking but we could tie it all to Bain Capital or JP Morgan Chase but that would be political and probably incorrect.

As many others have posted, it is better to prolong your delivery than to be driving a machine with serious problems. I wish the 2013s had been checked a little more closely. It's is so disheartening to buy an expensive machine and be plagued with a problem the company will not fix. Patience my friends. Hopefully you will receive a machine that is a pure joy to ride.

I don't ride in winter any way! I have already resigned myself to waiting till April 1st to get my Yellow RTS SE6. Makes for a great birthday present to ME! :2thumbs: Tom :trike:
