There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Almost Human - New Fox TV Show - Are Those Spyders?

Great lines to remember

and he said that the scan showed he was 'Backed up'

:rolleyes: Yup, the plot thick'ns .................... :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

The Missus was chucking during that exchange; I was just turning green...

:agree: We're giving it another week; then we'll decide if it's worth watching...
There's already all sorts of "Plot discussions" ongoing...
Do you think that Kennex might also be a "Synthetic", and just not know it yet?
Notice any similarities to "Blade Runner"?
I had it on the DVR....just watched two 1/2 of the episodes....this show desperately needs to replace the staff of writers they have now. Oh we'll...it was a good try. Scratch that--it was a try.

I am already out on this show. I have a problem if a show is supposed to be that far in the future and they use vehicles that are available today. I liked seeing spyders though. I have a problem with all the tarus' with the fancy hub caps.

First and last Season I think

I don't expect this show to take off. Like some else said, the writing is pretty bad and the use of current vehicles in a show about the future 20 to 30 years from now looks very hokey. The special effects are low budget too so I don't expect to see a second season of this schlocky sci-fi show.

The problem with trying to produce quality science-fiction on a TV show is how expensive it is. The gamble is you will make enough shows to sell it into reruns. If you don't, you take a huge bath financially. Most aren't willing to take the risk simply because the payoff is so far into the future. Desilu Studios took a risk with Mission Impossible and Star Trek. Executives there said "hey you're going to bankrupt the company". Desilu Studios was sold in 1967 before Star Trek made it big. Mission Impossible took years before it was revived through the Tom Cruise movies.

What is amazing, is how expensive Star Trek was to produce and when you look at the sets and costumes today, you have to laugh. But back then they were costly.

I was once stopped in the parking lot of a store by lady who asked me about my Spyder. She said I looked like I was from the future. The year 2048 to be precise.

but the problem with this show is mostly the writing....at least in my opinion.

I enjoy some of the old time sci fi that had few special effects, but had good writing. Some of the sci fi from the 1940's 1959's and 1960's had really crummy special effects. I saw one once where spacemen were wearing plastic trash cans for helmets! Even by the standard of the day this was crummy. But the writing was good.

I kinda like the show. Every episode so far has at least one scene with a Spyder. The writers are still 'developing' the characters. Babylon 5 was cancelled twice but was able to complete the 5 year run the writer said it would take to tell the story. Glad to see other networks picked it up. Lets see where 'Almost Human' goes from here.

Who could forget the entire "Vampires versus Alligators" plot of Babylon 5?
(I watched all of that entire series!)
