• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Rough Friday Night

On Friday night I was cutting down some trees on a friends property when I was attacked by a 14 foot piece of a dead one. After being air lifted to University Hospital I spent the evening getting 14 stitches in the right side of my scalp, 12 at the base of my left thumb, and 8 on my left middle finger. I have a huge contusion and bruising down the right side of my head, but luckily there are no broken bones or bleeders in my brain. Now I look like Frankenstein's monster with a huge hematoma above my right ear, a purple right eye that was completely swollen shut (until this morning), and blood everywhere. I lost a lot of blood, and I am still very weak, but I am home now. I am currently re-evaluating a lot of the things I do in my life and tree cutting has gone to the bottom of the list. My wife has been amazing through all of this. She has been by my side and taking care of me every step of the way, as well as the house and the kids. I know she is exhausted but she doesn't let it show. Hopefully I will be back to work soon, but until then I will be prowling the sight. So Everyone please keep me busy so I can keep my mind of the pain.

DAMN!!! .... Teddy & I will add you to our prayer list for a full/speedy recovery

Revenge of the trees.......... at its worst  Sorry to hear that this happend to you, but at least its not as bad as it could of been  We'll be keep'n ya in our prayers for a full recovery  and just in case, if you have a fireplace, I wouldn't recommend using it, at least not if its a wood burning fireplace..... could you imagine the revenge they'd seek for that :yikes:

Ouch! Even though you've been through a lot of pain (and most likely still experience it), I'd say you should consider yourself lucky. It could have been much worse. (I don't know if it helps, but it's true). Get well soon.

chad, what part of getting out of the way didn't you understand?? :joke: sounds like you would have stood a better chance with that guys truck at spyderquest!!! (as a blocker at the lg intersection) nojoke we all know what kind of a gal brenda is, and would expect no less of her!! get well buddy, and stay away from those falling trees!! and ps, i liked your idea about the competition at spyderquest 2014. any talk amongst the peers about checking into it??:dontknow:

Chad, I can sympathize. Bruisersbaby has severely curtailed my use of chainsaws. 1999, I was clearing downed trees after Hurricane Floyd. The last one was apparently under pressure. After cutting through it it snapped sideways hitting my left leg and throwing me back about 30 feet into an upright tree, then it landed on my leg. My left leg was broken in four places, and my right leg had two hairline cracks. I spent the next five days in hospital. Now I walk with a limp.

Get well soon Bro.

The tree makes for a pretty good cover story ;)...
Brenda's staying close to you to insure that you don't throw her "under the bus"... :joke:

 Seriously; heal quickly and completely! :2thumbs:

:agree:

Thoughts and :pray: go with you. They call partially downed trees "widowmakers" for good
reason. Glad you are getting through it.

Best wishes for a full and kind of quick recovery. There is not a quick one from the facts.
A lot of people do not realize just how dangous tree cutting can be. I worked as a tree trimmer/feller for a couple years in my youth. More then one guy got hurt and some were plain lucky. I hit a horse shoe in a tree I was cutting up. the chain saw and I had quite a dis agreement. I was lucky and unhurt. A co worker had a saw kick back and cut his boot heel off. He quit. I decided to join the USAF because it was safer (and a lot more reasons).
