There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Article anout 2014 Spyder

The December issue of Rider(they misspelled it) magazine has a pretty good review of the 2014 Spyder if anyone is interested.

"While roll-on testing back-to-back with a 2013 RT V-twin at the 2014 launch last week in Florida showed the new RT triple is not appreciably quicker at lower speeds"

This is the 2nd article that I have read where they say the larger motor is not overwhelming quicker / faster than the V-Twin. It makes me wonder why BRP didn't go to a 1600cc or 1800cc engine like what the 2-wheel competition has. The claimed 15 HP increase is not huge. Just do the cat removal and add an exhaust to the V-Twin and you'd just about be there. For me, the engine size difference isn't large enough to make me want to trade in.

Myself, I am not as impressed with the "quicker/faster" as I am with the reports of better transmission and longer legs! 200-250 miles per tank? Niiiice!

good write up

i thought it was a good write up, but i am wondering just how much of a take off from a dead stop compared to the 13's my 13 is pretty quick from a dead stop but i always have that strange feeling till the clutch fully grabs. but i would love to hear a comparison between the 13 and 14 as far as the heat goes. like a side by side comparison

I spoke to the dealer in Martinsville Indiana and he kinda told me the same thing. I guess he rode one in Orlando but he said "the V1000 is still quicker off the line and seems to have more bottom end grunt but the triple has more mid range pull". I won't be able to get a 14 any time soon but I sure do want to ride one, we all may just be hoping it's better :dontknow:

That was also stated in another write up that I read. I would rather have a motor that gets off the line and up to speed quickly. I can see the advantage of the triple if I was pulling a trailer, but I don't, so I think I prefer to stick with the 2013. I guess we'll have to wait and see what some unbiased reviewers say about it. I still wish they went bigger - 1600cc or 1800cc.

"Some of the test machines had trouble idling after numerous photo passes in the swampy heat, and later BRP reps told us that they found the PCV valve had been installed incorrectly (um, backwards) on those bikes." :yikes: Seriously another test show debacle for BRP?

Being quick off the line has it's drawbacks though. I was first at a signal light once, popped the clutch at green and almost got nailed by a pickup that ran the red from my left. Caused him to do a 180.:yikes:

Still waiting for my December issue. Guess all the postal people have to read it before it is delivered to me. :roflblack:
