• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

ECM Reset issues?

I just buttened the Spyder and I'm in the middle of the ECM reset prodedure. I just let it run untouched for 15 minutes. Now it's in the middle of the 15 minute rest sequence.

When running, "Seat Switch Defective" kept scrolling on the screen also I think it's the VSS Icon but it looks like a slippery, skidding spyder was illuminated on the display.

All I did was remove the side panels, disconnect the battery for 2+ hrs, put on the Battery Tender pigtail, let it run for 15 minutes and reinstall the tupperware.

This isn't normal is it? What'd I do? How do I fix it? :banghead: :cus:

j/k Under the rear seat, there is a plug-in to the seat sensor (in the seat itself). You probably pulled it loose when playing. Snap it back in. :D

Are you talking about the sensor that is connected to the passenger portion of the Corbin seat? or is there another? I did have the passenger portion removed along with having the sensor unplugged but I checked it and it appears to be secure. I'll double check it though.

What about the Icon on the display? Any ideas?

Patience is a Virtue...

 I'd reseat the connection, if you haven't already. Push it together until it clicks / locks. That's the only thing that can cause the message it had. The red, blinking ((!)) is used for this and other things... like parking brake on, for one.

For the past three days 3 out of 5 time I start the spyder I now get the message seat switch defective, all I do is wait 5 min and start the bike and all is fine till next time. I have checked the plug and even took it out and made sure it is all the way, never touch the rear seat or the sensor and do not ride with anyone back there. Tomorrow will be one month I have had my spyder and ready for my first services, with my luck when I tell dealer about this it will not show up, will there be a code in the computer that they will see the problem when they hock it up during the 600 mile services.

The code should be in history accessible with BUDDS.

BTW, I'm not sure that I've ever heard of this one before. You may be #1! :firstplace:
