• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Winter

End of the riding season here.

Filled the tank, put fuel stabilizer in. Took it for one last burn. Washed and polished it for the last time this year. Took all my gear out of it.

Parked in the garage and covered for another winter until mid April.

Now that I can't ride means I get to spend more time on this website, jealous of you guys and gals that are still riding or can ride all year long.

It was a good season. Put 10 K on. Lots of commuting and day trips. Never got the chance to get away for an extended time. Will have to give some consideration to Spyderfest for 2014.

Anyways, I am back online everyday for a few months.

Send it to us down here we will keep it warm for you,.....lol

Here, in Quebec City, we have today our first snow fall of the season. Only 2cm are in the forecast. We can still ride until december 15 where snow tire are mandatory on all vehicule. I have some ride to do thru this date, but we must have warm clothing. After this date, we have to wait at march 16 for riding

You could put snow tires in the Spyder. You wouldn't be the first to do it either. :roflblack:

you could

Greetings from Alaska:

Akspyderlady and I are going for a ryde today. We have blue skies and sunny so far today. Temps are at freezing--frost on the grass and ice on the windows of the van.

Went back and looked up my annual stats. Compared to 2012, we got started a week early this year 4/20/13 and are now three weeks past when we parked them last year--10/5/12. So far, that is an extra month of riding. I did not get in as many miles as I would like--hip issues--but it has been a good ryding season.

I will continue to ryde daily until the snow covers my road. Looks like we still have a week or so reprieve.:popcorn::popcorn:

I am still riding here, but when the salt hits the roads I will be done for the season too. Doesn't look like I am gonna get to 15,000 miles this season.:banghead:

Just sayin'............
I put up :spyder2: for the Winter Storage on Oct. 1st. Also I can not with until next season so i can put more miles on my :spyder2:.

Hi Poog. Just read your note here. I just took my plates off last week and stored the bike about the time of the snow we had. If you still have the oil filters I sure would be interested in them and willing to buy them. I am just down the road from you east of Regina At Rocanville. I have a 2012 RT limited, There are eight of these in this area all come from Power Sports Regina. It would be goog to get to meet you sometime. We have went to Spyderfest the past two years and also the BRP ralleye in Durango CO. I am new at this site as you can see so do not know how to contact you.I am listed in the Spyder help on the road.

Work

Buy a big a$$ treadmill and put the Spyder on it!

I answer calls from Tax Preparers @ work, and one lady calls me from Winnipeg says she has a german shepherd that gets on their treadmill on its own for 20 mins all on its ow all she has to do is say "treadmill" and there he is?

We have a decent riding season in NJ. Only thing which keeps me off the roads is snow and salt. We get that but winter always offers us reprieves to ride. I was out on one of the bikes today...temps in low 50's. Tomorrow, wife is taking Spyder and me the bike. Supposed to be sunny and low 50's. I would rather ride this weather than mid summer heat and humidityy

:2thumbs: Glad to hear that the weather hasn't forced you indoors just yet!

Guess who I ran into when filling the tanks after our ryde today? The dealers son--the one who runs store #2. His first question after saying Hello was, am I still wanting a new 2014, and what color? Is this an omen?

Hi Andrew, Got your message but do not know if I am doing this right as I have never been on this before and am not computer smart. If you could send me an e-mail I would appreciate it and I will get back to you. Hope this goes through.
Thanks

Fuel stabilizer

what brand/kind of fuel stabilizer do you use? I just removed my battery so I guess I should put some of this stuff in the fuel too?? Thanks for the help!

Last year I used Kleen-flo. I had zero problems with start up in the spring. I used to use it in all my recreational products.

This year I used the XPS stuff the BRP dealer sells. I am sure it will be fine. It seems to be more concentrated than last years stuff as it requires less. That said it sells in smaller quantities for around the same price. So same same.
