There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well...it happened again, shortly after leaving work. About 1 mile after entering a 75mph interstate...limp mode, several failures. No Exit for 5 miles, doing 45 while everyone else is doing 80 sucks. Dealers got the Spyder again and gave me my SV. I gotta say I am done with this thing, just waiting for the next failure. I am ready to move on.

I wonder if the Lemon law is applicable in your case or if available at all???

That stinks. Wonder if there is any chance of BRP stepping up to the plate and saying "Sorry, we let a bad one get through, accept this new one as a replacement." :dontknow:

I know the feeling. With mine sitting at the dealer ship awaiting new valve cover gaskets and a new plug wire and the service manager having no idea when the parts will come in. I spent yesterday on the phone with the dealership and I'm very close to doing a deal for a new ZX6-R.

I am suprised that the dealer would not have the gaskets and plug wire... Seems that when the valve check service is due they would have those gaskets. Unless of course they wait and order when you go in for the service.
'I am going to check with the local dealer to see if they have those items on the shelf.

Man that really suxs. I had that happen to me once and it was no fun. Near as we can tell it was a loose relay. I'm going to add a little foam to my cap so it keep pressure on all the fuses and relays. Hope they figure it out soon.

I didn't say anything on your last post but the only way you have a bad plugwire and gasket is because of the service they did. Plugwires don't just tear or crack on their own on such a new vehicle, they did that when they did your valve check I'm sure. That leads me to believe they did a poor job on installing the valve cover gasket too even if you did get 3000 miles before it showed up. That's why there are very few people I trust to work on my stuff.:sour:

If you find them at your dealer let me know, I'll buy em' and have them shipped to Ft. Myers.

The gaskets I would expect to be found, but the plug wire I wouldn't expect to be an instock item. A plug wire shouldn't go bad in 9k miles.

I've been trying not to tell myself that. I've had nothing but good experiences with my dealer, however the plug wire is highly suspect because it was a tear in the boot. Almost what you'd expect if someone was tugging it side to side instead of straight off.

I'm just frustrated because I ride everyday and prefer to do so on the Spyder, so when I'm without I go kinda crazy. Doubt I'd every truly replace it, the Spyder is all the thrill of two wheels and is a lot safer around these snow birds. :2thumbs:

Sorry to hear about your problems. I can relate as my new SE-5 doesn't want to come out of first gear (been doing it for a few months sporadically) and it really sucks to be stuck in traffic with no place to get off the road. The dealer can't seem to replicate the problem and will not do anything. It might be on eBay soon.

BRP does not replace our Product

Thats the answer i got from vice president of marketing from BRP when i was trying to get a replacement spyder for my problematic spyder. I asked him what about lemon law? He said "Oh thats different" He did say BRP will do whatever it takes to fix my spyder, so its been in shop again and going back in for more when parts get here.

So "NO" BRP is not gonna just hand you a new spyder. I got the impression i would have to fight it out with a lawer on my side to get a replacement or refund.

Got the call today...it's the VCM again. How many of these have to break before the engineer loses his pride or gets fired and they create the fix? I wonder what technology grade they used on their electronics, I wouldn't think industrial grade would go bad this easily. Sometimes old hearty components are better than the latest/greatest, it almost seems like a bad application of surface mount technology or components suffering from ESD. This is absolutely ridiculous quality wise, electronics is an established trade at this point. To be having problems like this is unacceptable especially when VSS tecnology is not new. Parts on order, probably a couple weeks before I get it back.

Sorry to hear that . Many "lemon laws " are state inspired, that is your rights vary with a manufacturer from state to state and the manufacturers recourse or what they have to do to make it right also vary from state to state. Some laws include motorcycles while others do not . Some states employ a three strikes and yer out policy. That is if they (the mfg via the dealer)fail to fix three documented instances of the same problem within a six month period then u are entitled to a replacement vehicle less depreciation etc. Like i saisd that will vary by state as to details .
I'd google Arizona and lemon law and see what u turn up ..

It's a shame they won't replace the vehicle...I'd ask them to give you a SM5...eat the difference in cost...it's well worth it...you'll have less problems...

Being this won't happen, I hope they fix your problem once and for all...talk to the higher ups and ask for some mods for all your time and problems. They should be more than willing to compensate you for all your headaches...

Ping this

http://www.keytlaw.com/az/lemonlawstatutes.htm

looks like motorcycles are covered under the broad definition of motor vehicle
as well as the occurrences of what is a legit claim.

Additionally u could always park it in front of your dealer if they are unresponsive and cut up a dozen or so lemons and place it all over the bike
that might get their attention as well.

They are probably made in China. :barf:
