• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Drive belt position???

From a clearance perspective, 1/8" is right in the middle ot the published tolerance. Don't fix it... it's not broken! Can't say anything, though, about the tension on your bike.
.

I'm going to try this. As I haven't riddin it for 2 months because of winter. But I noticed the other day that the belt has a gap of about 1/8 in. from the inside flange. That would be too much right? The dealer adjusted it last fall just before I put it up for the winter. I did notice that shortly after that I got the brake squeal. Which I never had before.
Are you supposed to have 225 to 250lbs on the seat when you do this? Kinda got that impression from the post here.

I forgot to mention that before the dealer adjusted the belt it was touching the flange. He did use the BRP tension gauge when he adjusted it. So then I guess it's all ok. Thanks.

The tension gauge just checks the belt tightness, not the alignment, just so you know. You can adjust the belt alignment (carefully) without changing the tension. I agree with Atadude, don't mess with it if it isn't broken. From my experience, listen for a growling noise, especially on deceleration, and look for belt residue on the engine sprocket if you have the panels off. If the belt is too far left, you will probably get both. Otherwise, you are OK.

All posts talk about adjusting the belt with Spyder jacked up and running in third gear. What about belt drift while on a 2,000 mile trip. Any suggestions on how to do that short of heading for nearest dealer?

Again - Great information! I'll keep checking this thread for awhile as it looks like more may be coming along.

Thanks, Frank
