• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Oh My, HD "Do Not Ride"

I agree, BRP is not proactive. Some of the problems that are common with the bikes could result in serious consequences but no recalls have been issued.

In my observation, some us are part of the problem with BRP. IE 2013 heat problems, we help our member affected for solicite need and adviced DIY instead tell them to take their :spyder2: back to the dealer. our intentions are good but not really.

recall

Once the recall was issued there was a no delivery order issued by BRP also. HD did nothing different than BRP in that regard.

ann what recall are you talking about because i gt my bike after the ball joint recall was issued but i am not sure the heat recall was done in canada yet at that time

Good to see that HD is taking a pro active position on the new 2014 year models. The magazines had articles about the new innovations (partially water cooled engines) and were talking them up pretty good.

It is possible that HD learned a lesson from what happend here.

We will have to see how the 2014 models work out with our favorite company. I am hoping for the best here.

John, I believe that the ball joints were a service campaign which is not a recall. I'm not sure what you mean about the "heat" recall and Canada. BRP issued the recall for the melting master cylinder in Canada first and then approx. 10 days later they issued the recall in the US. The dealers were not allowed to deliver any 2013 until the recall was completed. Remember that service campaigns are not the same as a recall.

Canada was first..!!

BRP tried to recall here but were held up due to our recall system. The additional work involved was the delay. So Canada had theirs done much quicker..so I was told...:gaah:

In BRP's defense, the US do not sell order was given to dealers when the Canada recall was issued. They did not wait for the US recall to initiate the do not sell order. I was caught in it first hand.

just go and read some of the comments after the story. every one who builds a bike or a car has issues. HD is no different. they have their share of haters as well.

There has only been one recall on your Spyder and that was issued for the chance of fire due to leaking brake fluid.
