• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Feeling a little bit of a surge on bike

300 miles from 4600 mile checkup but wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this. Just did about 700 mile trip this weekend, and before I rained out on the last 125 miles, I began to feel the bike surging. Not a great deal but enough to notice. I was running about 70 mph with the cruise control set (on dry pavement) when I begin to notice the surge. After stopping for the night due to heavy rains in west texas, got up about 4:00am this morning trying to travel the last 125 miles to work and had no noticeable surging taking place. Light rain for about 40 miles, then smooth sailing after that. Might this be the cruise control, or do I need the Baja Ron cables and plugs? :dontknow:

I have noticed that at highway speeds using cruise control. Always thought it was wind resistance and the cruise control compensating.. Does make you wonder though when you feel it...

I have noticed a slight surge without cruise employed.

It happens now and then when I settle on the speed I want to ride at and keep the twist grip in one position for a spell.

A small movement of the throttle, opening or closing it a fraction, stops it.

My RT has done this from new so I don't think it can be down to wear.

I'd say it's a characteristic of my trike, a feature of its personality, kind of. :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack:

Some additional information would be nice.

Last fuel stop Haskel Tx 90 Octane Come to think of it, When I stopped for gas the last several fillups, highest octane available was 90. Usually fill up around home with 93 octane.

Length of run between last fill up
75 miles Filled up on trip home with 93 octane.

Gonna fill it up when the rain clears out with the good stuff, and put several more hundred miles on it before its 4600 mile service. The dealer will check it out when I take it in, as they have always done really well on my service. I have had no real issues with my RT, its been great. Maybe the lower octane, maybe some bad fuel caused this.

You could very easily gotten a bad batch of gasoline. If it was raining on you some rain drops could spoil your day too.

Through episodes of Murphy Law time periods I have picked the wrong gas stop and gotten contaminated fuel. It almost always cleared itself up in 3 tanks min of 2.

I almost always pick one fuel stop at a station that old fuel while taking a trip and stale fuel is a PIA.

:banghead:."

Check your right hand exhaust gasket. Better yet, if you have not replaced it with a Honda part just do it and remove it as a possibility.
