• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Magic Strobe from Custom Dynamics does not work correctly on 2013 RT

Purchased High Mount stop lamp and magic strobe flasher unit for my 2013 Spyder RT-S. High mount stop light seems to work fine but strobe unit does not. After about an hour of trouble shooting, it works fine with the HMT and the right tail light connected. Plugging in the harness on the left side (with the single white wire) makes the strobe non functional and when hitting the brakes both the brakes and reverse lights come on dim. I have checked all the connections for continuity by back probing and all are good. There seems to be some problem with this connection scheme or a ground missing when connected to the left side. Has anyone else used this unit on a 2013 RT or have solved this issue? Do any of these vendors actually test this stuff on new models before assuming it works and selling it. Very frustrating to spend this kind of money for 'plug n play' complete wiring harness installation and it simply is not functional as shipped.

when I set my HMT light up /everything except 1 wire connected on the right side. 1 purple wire went to the left turn signal but nothing else.

That is exactly the way the harness they supplied conneted except the single wire to the left side was white. I have reached out to Custom Dynamics, likely they will respond tomorrow (Monday). Hopefully will get resolved, just disappointing it does not work as shipped and will require rework.

After a few follow up emails from Custom Dynamics, it became obvious that I was going to need to spend some real troubleshooting time to get this to work as they had no idea. Had to wait until this weekend. The 'plug n play' harness supplied by custom dynamics for the spyder RT DOES NOT WORK for 2013 models as designed. I have found a working wiring scheme and made the connections for now by hacking up the supplied harness. I have forewarded the working wiring information to CD and asked that they supply the connectors and wiring so that I can assemble a correct plug in harness that I paid for. That was yesterday morning and no response yet. For now, this is just a heads up to other 2013 owners that the Magic Strobe unit is not plug in compatible and requires significant rewiring to make work at this time. Hopefully CD will produce an updated harness for this and supply me the parts to fix mine (or a new updated harness). Will report back as this play's out. They really need to correct their web site a well.

Thanks for the info. Now that winter is coming I was going to make that one of my projects along with new shocks. I will hold off till there is an update.

Just posting an update 7 days later and several email prompts from me, Custom Dynamics is now ignoring me. So much for reported great customer service. At least so far.

Last follow up now that this is resolved. For me at least. CD had me purchase the wiring components necessary to build a correct wiring harness for my 2013 RT-S. I got the parts and built my own harness which is now plugged in to the bike and working fine. Still the harness as supplied does not work on a 2013 RT-S and causes a ground loop problem with lights coming on dim when they should not. CD was professional and easy to deal with even if I disagree with the outcome. I do like my end result but others may not have the ability to build your own wiring harness to get it working, nor the inclination to spend hours doing so for a product advertised as plug n play. I will likely purchase products from them again.
