• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Garmin zūmo® 390LM has tire pressure monitor capability

$700 for a tire pressure monitor seems a bit excessive. I understand it's also a GPS, but when other Garmin GPS are less than $230 for bluetooth equipped models and a Spyder specific TPMS is available for about $200, $700 is way out of line.
 
Yeah, I wouldn't buy it just for the TPMS. Just bringing it to others attention in case they were looking for a motorcycle GPS. I have a 660, so until it dies..... One thing I think Garmin needs to step up on their products is their processors, when your zooming or looking at maps, they tend to be slow. Especially on units like for motorcycles, that by their very nature will be running off of the bike's power.
 
:agree: Tire pressure monitoring systems are available elsewhere...
Let the GPS concentrate on getting me where i want to go; I actually can run a tire pressure gauge with very little trouble on my own... ;)

I understand others have found that a plastic bag works quite well when inclement weather comes along. You can buy a lot of plastic bags for the difference in price between a Nuvi and a Zumo. And as others have reported here, the absence of shock isolation doesn't seem to be a problem on :f_spider:.

One feature I do like is the curvy road navigation feature. I can add Mad Maps to my 660, but nice that this has something built in. Of course I am sure if I found a plastic bag and drew curvy lines on it, no one would need this unit. :joke:;)

Where did you see a GPS with Bluetooth that sells for $230? I'd buy one in a second if I could find one.
 
Have to agree..!!

with Bob, there are simple monitoring systems easier to install. Still a bit much imho...as they say " it never rains in southern california" and when it does we stay home on spyderlovers....so automotive gps works great out here. Gotta say we have been in some downpours with nowhere to stop and gps does fine. Is a nice add on though and I'm sure it will attract some....!!:thumbup:
 
GPS

I have an ST-S, thus no Garmin GPS. But I added the Tom-Tom app with lifetime updates to my IPhone and use a plastic bag in the rain. The cost for the app? $39.95!
