• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hey all since my spyder is up getting service done at least for another couple days I'm looking at all of the pictures in Lamont's folder he posted and I see a big glimmer of hope :clap::pray::clap::pray::clap::pray:

Why we all are a little disappointed in the new RSS even though it has some tweaks, not much on the new colors VERY VERY happy I got my green that I wanted.

I start reading and come up to picture 54 OH picture 54. The one problem I have with the way the bike is programed is how the nanny works and shuts the bike down if it feels Im taking turns little too fast. BRP states for the RSS in 2014 they have re-calibrated the VSS system to a more sport tuned program!!!! I have a call into my dealer to have them find out if this can be re-calibrated in mine since it is only a year older .

You might be better off just riding over there and getting in front of Jim to see if he can get it done. Heck, shoot me a PM if you head over and myself and my good friend also with a spyder will join you. Between myself and my friend we've spent a **** ton of money there in the last few years on spyders and seadoos...:yikes:

Although, he probably doesn't have access to the info for the 2014's on BUDs as of yet.
He's going to be getting busy here real soon with all the winterizations on the watercrafts then he'll be dead for a few months until spring before business picks back up.

I'm planning on going over this week end if I don't hear back. Be good to talk to some fellow spyder riders. Other then my little parade adventure back on the 4th of July I've seen one other spyder on the road and I wasn't on mine at the time :banghead:

I dropped it off last Saturday and Jim was running around like a wild man but that pretty normal.

Yeah I can't imagine there is any info on it right now since the 14's are not even out yet but gotta put the bug in CJ's ear. He helped me out with the HID's questions I had and every other question for that matter.

Good Luck; please let us know what you find out about this...

Thanks a lot I will,
Talked with the head tech there today and he said he would email them if it could be done but since there not even out yet may be some time for a real response

I could have sworn this question was already asked and answered-- by Lamont, possible?-- that no, the 2014 VSS modifications can't be backfitted onto earlier RS and ST models.

Would be nice to get official confirmation, however.

The tech I talked to said it may not be able to be reprogrammed but if it is a hard program the VSM module may be able to be replaced and have it work . Down fall is that that module is little over $1000 .

If that would work I'd half to ride a new one and see how much it's modified still may be worth it .

I will keep this up dated when I get a answer

Well Got my phone call today, and the answer is as I thought a big FAT NO!!!!! They told him it was alot more then a computer calibration.

BRP stated to the tech that the 14's have multiple sensors changed to make this happen, he told me the steering angle sensor on the 13 and prior was checking and taking readings in the amount of every 25 milli volts, the new sensor reads every 5 milli volt so its alot more sensitive but reads much more accurately. Also said control arm bushings are stiffer and changed VSS module and yaw sensor will be different.

 Sounds as if it's time to start talking "trade-in" for you!

NO GREEN !! If there was green available might consider it. Maybe when the new aprilia V4 comes to the RSS and it back to green I might need to get the wife mad at me but guess need to get with Baja Ron and get that sway bar I want:ohyea:

VERY Nice I'd like to see that

I looked at the dimensions of the V4 and it's just about the same I don't see why they could not make a production bike with it.
